Boo-yrnes! I was saying Boo-yrnes!
Right now I'm dreaming of Carl Crawford. Maybe next year...(or this year at the trade deadline)...
I'm afraid whenever the ball is hit to Byrnes. The man makes routine catches look scary.

That's probably why he struck out.
You need to be more clear when you’re telepathically using the imperative.
Sorry Scruffy, but this one falls on you.
Griffey's bobblehead looks like it is in pain.

Tui sucks.
He is going back to Triple A when Hannahan is ready yay!
I was hoping that Danks would manage to complete the spider he was throwing at Moore.

Oh well, nine pitch at-bat.

He can walk up to the plate and swing a fucking. I don’t care if he even ran to 1B after hitting the ball.

I want Griffey benched and Milton to be the DH.
That would keep him healthier.
And Sweeney needs to go
I don’t have the hatred for Sweeney other peeps here do, but really, seriously, he hardly gets any at-bats and is basically irrelevant at this point.
I could live with Sweeney being on the roster if the rest of the bench wasn't so bad.

I think he'd be fine if he got more at-bats
But there’s no way he’s replacing Griffey as the every day DH. So what’s the point? There isn’t one. Hugs ain’t enough for me.
Think of it this way:
Griffey K’s, we lose the ballgame.
Milton gets a hit, we tie the ballgame. Milton gets injured running the bases. We lose Milton.
I’d rather lose the ballgame than Milton.
There wasn't anyone else he could have pinch hit for.
I wish Moore could have stayed in though.
It's a long season. Do we have to start saying this again?
That is the worst stadium of the M’s. They’re banged up, and we have some on the way. They could have easily won that series.

They're not bad, they can play over.500.
The team we had out there this weekend is actually kind of average, with Tui, Byrnes, Sweeney, Griffey, Moore, and Johnson not being much better than replacement players. Combine that with the fact our bullpen had a bad weekend (even though are starters weren’t bad), they’re just going have trouble winning in that park with this team. We could have won at least one of those game, too.
Someone couldn’t choose a worse series to judge the M’s.
by refuse2lose2010 on Apr 25, 2010 2:16 PM PDT up reply actions
This roster is fucked
We really didn’t deserve to win any of the three games with the lineups that were out there. Also, we’re 9-10 with magnificent starting pitching so far and during an easy stretch of our schedule.
We’re seriously no going to do shit this season until the front office wakes the fuck up and realizes their major league bench is anything but major league.
Below replacement level players on roster: 4 (Griffey, Sweeney, Tui, Byrnes - Adam Moore gets a pass)
Above replacement level players in Tacoma: 2: Langerhans, Hannahan,
This shouldn’t be hard.

Still drunk from last night/this morning.
Hence all the wierd posting. But you knew that.

One of the mods is from the UK
Several of our posters are also from thereabouts, so adding a u to things like color or honor, or using a s instead of a z in things like utilize or organize, or putting the r before the e in things like somber or theater, are perfectly acceptable.

Yeah, I was trying to make a joke concerning our GM, but everyone is testy after the sweep.
I’ve been lurking long enough to know this, but there’s no way for you to know that. The internet is wierd.

Oh shit!
You’re right! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrllCZw8jiM
I saw it a few months back.
I like it on the Bill Murray factor, but it’s one of those movies where it runs a bit long without enough funny, even though the funny is fantastic when they get to it.
Like the Aunt Jemima treatment

I was trying to find Bill Murray movies for a friend.
He hadn’t seen Ghostbusters in about ten years, so we had to do that, and it still holds up I have to say. Stripes, not so much, but there are great moments in it, like the recruitment office and the on-field demonstration, it just largely falls flat in the second half.
I’ve been trying to think of others to watch. He’s not so much into the Wes Anderson thing though, which I can understand, and Lost in Translation, while good, is not especially funny. Broken Flowers was another possibility, but again, it’s not outright funny.

We did Groundhog Day!
I think that was the intermediary between Ghostbusters and Stripes, but those are great suggestions. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Caddyshack in its entirety myself, so it always slips my mind.

Seasonal, but okay.
I still can’t get used to the idea that the irate office drone is Bobcat Goldthwaite. It surprises me every time.

Meatballs -one of my favorites
Corny 70’s summer camp movie, but I had a crush on Chris Makepeace-aka Rudy the Rabbit
Quick Change
Bank heist movie where he dresses up as a clown… includes Geena Davis and Randy Quaid. The awesomeness quotient is pretty high in that one.

Are any of the 1B/DH's roaming around Tacoma an improvement over Griffey/Sweeney?
by yakvalleycardinal on Apr 25, 2010 2:12 PM PDT reply actions
Or here is a novel idea:
Bradley can DH, Langerhans and Hannahan can come up, and Griffey and Sweeney can go away forever.
I thought of this all by myself.
In 2.1 seconds.
Whilst on the toilet.
Not. That. Hard.
I know Z has been good at being objective when it comes to the roster,
but does he really have the balls to DFA two clubhouse/fan favorites?
2010 Safeco Field Record: 0-0 ; Overall Safeco Field Record: 10-4
Doesn't matter. He needs to do what's right in order for this team to win.
DFA Sweeney’s ass.
Ticket sales are #1. Now, do more people NOT come if he fires Griffey, or do more people come if the team is better?
by LonelyintheBleachers on Apr 25, 2010 2:19 PM PDT up reply actions
I'm imagining he's gone once Hannahan's healthy enough to come up
by yakvalleycardinal on Apr 25, 2010 2:20 PM PDT up reply actions
I really wish that wasn't the case
You’re still stuck with the same bench composition if they do switch

This has happened to me before
made more frustrating because the local Catholic radio station has wiped out my (tenuous) ability to get 850 on the radio anymore.
Nobody likes it when their designated drivers get hammered by pitcher after pitcher...
leaving them out in the rain with nobody to drive them home….
Put Sweeney on the DL, call up Langerhans, send Tui down, call up Hannahan, put Milton at DH and move Griffey to the bench.
Oh and DFA Colome when Lee comes back.
Lee has thrown 45 pitches through 4 innings
At this rate he’ll get through at least 7, even with the pitch count.
Granted it's the minors an all, but this is really encouraging.
Everything is Rob Johnson's fault.

Yea, he got through 6 easily and was just toying with Salt Lake
Probably wasn’t much of a point trotting him back out there.
The Bees are not a good team.

Sure didn't seem like it
At least Lee got some live game experience in. It seems like he’s good for liftoff.
Tough series
If the Canucks lose I might have to go to the hospital for alcohol poisoning.
I bought into it
