Ian Snell on Leave
Wak said on KJR that Ian Snell has left the team with family issues
There's no further information at this point. We don't know why, we don't know for how long and we have no idea if any moves will need to be made, if this has anything to do with anything or if there will be any repercussions.
Since there is no other information, seriously! none! Stop asking! you'll know when we do, feel free to use this thread for pointless speculation. Personally, I believe pirates are involved somehow. No, not the Pittsburgh Pirates. Actual pirates.

You're going to feel like a total ass when you find out that his family recently went on vacation to Somalia

Or if they went on a vacation with any surviving family member of Jose Lopez.

So I wonder which journalist will be first to fire up the "Washburn to Seattle...?!?!" speculation again

The only question would be if Larry Larue could get to a typewriter fast enough to beat Geoff Baker.
Nobody else cares.

Per Divish Twitter
Wak also said on KJR that he didn’t think Snell would miss his next start.
by ManifestDestiny on Apr 12, 2010 11:39 AM PDT reply actions
Even if he won’t miss a start, can we put him on 3 day bereavement leave and bring Langerhans back for a few days?
Apologies about neglecting a subject line...
OK, even if Langerhans isn’t coming back for the moment, maybe someone else? Seems like an opportunity to put a position player onto the roster for a few days without losing a pitcher seems like a plus.

I don't know that there's any position player on the 40-man roster worth calling up if he were to go on the bereavement list.
Your outfielders: Carrera, Saunders, Halman.
Infielders: Ackley, Carp.
That was my first though...
I saw it and kind of scratched my head thinking, “We aren’t even 10 games into the season and don’t have our full rotation back yet. What gives?”
Son of a bitch.

Right now I'm dreaming of Carl Crawford. Maybe next year...(or this year at the trade deadline)...

Jeff,
Do you think it was Somali Pirates or Blackbeard kind of Pirates?
Fuck the Angels
Shit, Sorry Mathew. I would've guessed you'd make a Pirate joke.
Fuck the Angels
Not to pick on you specifically, but why don't people look at the byline?
I see the byline before I read the title because the particular author will color how I interpret the title and from then out.
So, you're saying that this guy was involved?

He said pirate.
Not a guy that looks freakishly similar to a certain Griffey bobblehead.
Everything is Rob Johnson's fault.

Maybe it played into his performance?
What, 3 innings, 5 ERs? I didn’t get to watch the game, but no one pitches like that for a major league team and ISN’T having a off day. Maybe it was the thing where something was going on at home and he thought he could handle it then went out and bombed the game and either he or management (my vote would normally be on management, but given how bad his performance was, I’m inclined to believe equal participation), that until the issue was resolved, or he could get his head straight while dealing with the issue that he needed some time off.
Regardless, I hope that he and his family are alright, and that when he comes back he absolutely destroys whomever we might happen to be playing.
3IP/5ER is the baseline for some, sadly
Rooting for lovable losers since 1984.

Shannon Drayer said it was a death in the family
and Snell knew about it before the start. My prayers go out to his family.
It took me a long time to figure that out.
Very funny.

If you guys keep making smartass comments about him
he’ll come here and post a Fanpost like Morrow did.
Morrow did?
I’m kind of new, but he did? Link please, because that’s freaking awesome.
