Does ANYBODY have a replay of the catch?
I hate you MLB.TV.

This at least gives me something to look forward to tonight.
Can’t wait for the archive of the game to come out on MLB.TV tonight.
Really.
This is my first season with it so I’m not really familiar with its features. Is it just the full game that gets uploaded?
by DrunkAmerican on Apr 10, 2010 3:24 PM PDT up reply actions
That Gameday screenshot recording the out over the fence was pretty cool
Likely be something on the M’s website in a couple hours.
This is what Kermit is referencing I assume

You got slurved!

Just recorded it off my TV and uploading it now.
Will post the link once it is ready.

Here's a link to the video.
It’s a little choppy, but it should suffice now.

Thank you for this.
Love seeing Ichiro’s reaction.

Still blowing my mind.
He covered so much ground in so little time.

Wow
Excellent. Perfect game situation, sweet Ichiro reaction, already adds on to a huge game by Franklin
At this rate...
Felix will be 0-0-34, and I will want to stab my eyes out.
But damn that was a great way to end the game!
Felix was also unlucky to have the offense score so few runs early in the game.
You can’t just ignore the first eight innings.
Ok let me rephrase my comment
It was probable that Felix would have taken the loss entering the 9th inning, but due to some hitting regression by the hitters he did not.
Yeah, it's a bit nitpicky to force you to clarify this. I think we all understood what you meant originally.
Felix pitched a decent game all-around, but he would have taken the loss had a bunch of stuff not happened in the 9th.

Given his performance, he was unlucky to not get the W.

He's unlucky to be on the same team as Rob Johnson

There it is.
Everything is Rob Johnson's fault.

Yeah my apologies
This stupid phone doesn’t auto capitalize letters on this site, but none the less this was my first non Safeco/Kingdome game so I’m quite pleased with the outcome.

I still
don’t get why Figgins was PH for by Griffey
I assume Griffey demanded some playing time since we were losing.
Turned out to be great, so I don’t care less
Yankee Hater.

I mentioned it in the game thread.
I love Wak and I think he’s one of the best managers in baseball, but that was easily the worst decision he’s made as Mariners manager. I understand letting Wilson bunt, but Figgins is a better hitter than Jr, less likely to DP and wasn’t siting on the bench all game. That move made zero sense.
Time for us to look for a intelligent manager?
Frankly, I am totally fine with Wak being M’s manager.

My bad.

I'm not happy with the apparent influence he has on the roster
Rob Johnson is his baby, I’m pretty sure the Sweeney thing is his fault, and he does weird things to the bullpen all the time.
by Graham MacAree on Apr 10, 2010 3:38 PM PDT up reply actions 2 recs
That's a fair point
But even so, I’m more worried that he isn’t giving us the best chance to win each game with his decisions during games.
To be fair, part of the Johnson blame has to go to Felix.
I don’t care if you want a personal catcher.
Get a GOOD personal catcher.
Everything is Rob Johnson's fault.
by the other side on Apr 10, 2010 3:39 PM PDT up reply actions
He's signed long term now.
Incentive: gone!
by Graham MacAree on Apr 10, 2010 3:43 PM PDT up reply actions
Pretty sure Felix would learn to deal with throwing to Moore
Rob is his catcher because Wakamatsu lets him be his catcher.
Hopefully, Wak will realize Moore is the better fit for this organization.
For the case of Sweeney, I don’t even know. I wanted Garko so bad in this lineup. I am still pissed about how M’s decided to choose Sweeney over Garko. I personally think ST stats are very unreliable.

C'mon, Mathis is a fucking monster.

The DH situation is a wildly easy fix (Langerhans/Byrnes platoon in left, Bradley to DH), Johnson somehow persists despite being horrible at offense and defense,
Sweeney, bullpen management, etc. We could use better decisions.
I'm going to guess he thinks Figgins isn't swinging it real well right now, and that Griffey
had a better chance to lift the ball into the outfield for a sac fly.
Of course this still doesn’t make sense given each player’s current talent level, as well as the fact Griffey could have easily hit into a DP
Did anyone else notice . . .
how much that win expectancy chart resembles real estate values over the last 10 years? Anyway, that was a really fun win, DTFT is a treat to watch. Lee and Bedard need to come back soon, we might really be on to something then.
Anton Chigurh for GM!
I think Gutierrez could be successful as a Olympic sprinter after the catch.
Look at how fast his legs are moving. Thank God he is playing baseball, and for the Mariners
Yankee Hater.
First step is Guti's only real issue.
Medium distance would be his strength. 100-200m. The <50m is decided in the first four steps.
I would like to hereby congratulate MLB and Fox
for making sure I was completely prevented from watching the best game of the new season. Thanks fuckers! I will not be paying you for a baseball package..
It's weird, but I'm not considered local area by Fox.
I guess being five hours outside of the metro area isn’t considered local. Though MLBN fucks me when they have M’s games on. Good thing FSN covers those for me.

You can’t tell me not everyone likes the Yankees.

This has probably been asked thousands of times
But why are these charts different from Jeff’s? Not complaining, just wondering.
I think Jeff makes his own, witty pictures and all.
Matthew copied this one from Fangraphs.com, where you can always see live win percentages.
I think he's asking why Jeff's WPA and WE are different than Fangraphs.
Jeff makes his own, but the numbers are usually a little off.
