Doug Fister. Smoky Lincecum.
MLB.tv has audio, but why no video? Why do you constantly torture me with mediocrity, MLB.tv?
Niehaus is already confused, saying warning track when he means outfield wall.
Ichiro and Figgins both come around to score on Lincecum in the 1st inning.
Niehaus says nobody can figure out where Sandoval got his nickname. I always thought it was because he's fat like a panda.
Hopefully that's enough words for a fanpost.

Re: Panda's nickname
There was a play at the plate the year he came up where he managed to avoid the tag and touch the plate in a surprisingly athletic way and after seeing it, Barry Zito dubbed him, “Kung Fu Panda”.

"MLB.tv has audio, but why no video?"
Because no one’s recording. MLB.tv doesn’t have a production crew. They only carry a game when someone else is broadcasting it, and TV stations don’t want to pay to broadcast games that no one’s going to watch. A few spring training games might be on TV, but the great majority won’t.
I guess that's fair
But I don’t have to be happy about it.

Lost among the Morrow/Tillman/Butler/Moore group. Born in Venezuela, grew up in Florida. Started mostly but likely to be converted to relief. Low 90s FB as starter, slider, great Ks, some minor issues with walks, low endurance (nagging injuries), Mark Lowe v2.0 if Fields isn’t already.
He’s on the 40-man.

Anthony Vasquez up.
Anything on him, Jay?

He threw a first pitch strike!
That’s a good thing.
Let's see....
Left-hander, ’10… eighteenth round? No…. wait, yes. Worked mostly relief last season. Okay, but nothing spectacular. May start depending on needs.

This is one of my favorite parts of spring training, I'll have you know.

Anthony Vazquez...
was 3-3 in 11 starts with a 5.66 ERA in Clinton last year. Rizzs with the quick-and-dirty scouting report.
3.16 FIP at Pulaski, 3.51 FIP at Clinton.
Probably starts the year at Clinton.

I see him in the rotation there.
It depends on how ambitious they get there. I kind of want Jean Tome and Nolan Diaz to leapfrog… the Aquasox… okay, that’s unintentional punning, but they’re more interesting arms, I think. But Everett will probably send Hesketh, Stanton, and Kirkland up, and there’s already Carraway and Vasquez to account for, so it doesn’t look too rosey.

That's also leaving out guys like Czyz and Lewis
Who could have been up there on talent, but were bogged down with some offfield stuff last season.

He started in Clinton, and it was seven times.
Before that he was relieving in Pulaski, for the most part.

Boo.
Keyshnick scores on a bloop single. Bases still loaded. With no one out.
JAM ESCAPED!!!!!

1-2-3 double play!
Woo! 3 on, no one out and they only get one run. This is clearly indicative of our season performance.
Nicely done by Vasquez.
He is a groundball pitcher after all.

And he avoided the barrel of the bat.
The come-backer was on a broken bat. So, even better job.
Time for a Tui dinger.

But it is a much better game...
without Blowers in the booth to give them out. So conflicted.
And Tui K's to end the game.

Thanks a lot, Kaspareck.

I can't even imagine how nerve wracking your first game must be.
I’d probably launch the ball over to the next field.
Not really a result of wracked nerves.
Sounds like a reasonable goal to me.
Carlos Mencia continues to mine the comedic gold that is tornadoes and trailers.

We should continue this thread as the
“Watching today’s game update on the internet/twitter/liveblog” thread.
Probably broken gameday thread
This one counts in the Cactus League standings folks. THIS BOAT IS REAL.

Based on the location of the Gameday red dot
Byrnes made a FANTASTIC LEAPING CATCH for that fly ball.

Good for him
Hopefully none of our guys mess themselves up like Felix Pie already has for the Os…
