No no no Loafie.

You can swing at pitches that are strike, but good on you for trying to be a little more like Figgins.

ahem.

who is behind the plate.

Kotchman

The Good: Line drive back up the middle
The Bad: It looked like he hit the ball about as hard as he could and it didn’t clear the infield dirt.

by Graham MacAree on Mar 17, 2010 7:41 PM PDT reply actions

Figgins just looks like an excellent fielder on that play. He should prove to be elite defensively at 2b…

So whats the deal...

On the radio it sounds like Snell is pitching pretty well with 4 k’s. Is his stuff looking pretty good but his control is wonky?

by stredarts on Mar 17, 2010 7:54 PM PDT reply actions

Borbon just one-upped Figgins with that play.

by nassfat on Mar 17, 2010 7:58 PM PDT up reply actions

Haha, whatever. His reputation bought him that ejection.

by nassfat on Mar 17, 2010 8:00 PM PDT up reply actions

Oh...

He was. Wow, that is ridiculous.

So...

I’m sick of Bradley’s special treatment.

Junior flailing when he can’t pull the ball. Drive off that leg, Kid!

by nassfat on Mar 17, 2010 8:03 PM PDT reply actions

I'm amazed Bradley didn't blow up on the ump there.

Because he had every right to. And instead he just walked it off and let his manager argue it. I know it’s only Spring training, but it’s good to see that restraint from him.

Now with more lemon bars!

by Fear on Mar 17, 2010 8:07 PM PDT up reply actions

I'm thinking he thought he was the third out.

Because he was taking off his batting glove. By the time he realized it was only the second out, he was tossed.

by Wilder. on Mar 17, 2010 8:06 PM PDT up reply actions

This part sounds familiar...
That ridiculous policy was apparently still in tact Aug. 8 when Baines was ejected by Foster for dropping his bat at home plate and silently walking to the dugout in protest of a called third strike call.

Now with more lemon bars!

by Fear on Mar 17, 2010 8:11 PM PDT up reply actions

Not a real home run

It’s funny that our team can’t even hit fake ones though

Yeah, Twitter isn’t working. I was too far behind to do a game update blog. I’d rather come on here instead. My kind of commenters on this site.

Oh yeah,

Definitely rooting for Aardsma to end the year as closer, the realist in me (and probably the M’s front office) just doesn’t see it happening. Can never have enough possible closers in your bullpen.

I'm all for not catering to the idiots

The initial system may have been idiotic, but idiots have trouble repeating their work, so it requires intelligent people to replicate the thoughts of morons. The metric system is easily repeatable and logical so idiots can figure it out.

Weird concept-
It takes an intelligent person to replicate the works of an idiot but an idiot should be able to replicate the thoughts of an intelligent person

Which stupid people?

And what did they do? Don’t tell me they were mocking Bradley off the field.

by Wilder. on Mar 17, 2010 9:49 PM PDT up reply actions

These group of people that were sitting behind me. They spent the first 3 innings on the phone clamoring to whomever that

the game was on tv and that they were there. And they, when the camera crew apparently showed us(after the Bradley ejection?) they went ballastic like it was the coolest thing in the world. Then when Bradley got ejected, they started talking about how he sucked ass, and how he probably did roids in Texas. And they booed him and glared at me when I started yelling at the ump. But Griffey should be the everyday DH because he’s still got some left in the tank! And then they wondered when Vlad signed with Texas. And then they were wondering why the Mariners didn’t keep Snell in the pen like they did last year after they acquired him. And then they started saying Figgins sucks cause he has no power, so I said fuck it and moved farther down the line.

GOD.

FUCK ERIC BYRNES FUCK ERIC BYRNES!

On the plus side, Erik Bedard is awesome. He was bullshitting with all us behind the dugout before the game

and was signing everything thrown his way and smiling. Not only that, but people would ask for other players signatures, like Ichiro, so he was taking their stuff, getting the other players to sign them, and then throwing them back. He was the talk of the whole section behind the dugout.

FUCK ERIC BYRNES FUCK ERIC BYRNES!

close.

Outfielder for Clinton last season, and Wisconsin the year before. In other words, he hasn’t escaped the MWL yet. Think about a poor man’s version of Ezequiel Carrera with more strikeout issues than someone with negligible power should have, and you’d be close.

Correct.

Also can’t play center.

But Gillies’ strikeout issues aren’t that bad. 80 last year? Not damning, and that’s nothing on Mendez. Mendez struck out 142 times in 2008, over 393 at-bats. He only slugged .336, with an average of .237.

I'd suggest Blake Ochoa, but he might have some talent.

Traded one for one with the Marlins for the incredible Danny Santin.
