This simply makes me regret (even more) the fact that I cannot refer to him simply as "Carlos Silva's Expiring Contract" in 2011.
There needs to be late-night basic cable ads where some guy in a cheap suit asks, “Do you owe 25 million dollars to Carlos Silva? If so, please, call our number, and you can consolidate your debt into one easy payment, so you can get on with your life”.
,
“We’ve got to get him in a little better shape here first, and we will, especially if the weather stays like it is,” Piniella said. "Let’s hope we get him back to where he was in Minnesota, when he had that good, hard sinker working, nice little breaking ball. I don’t know what happened in Seattle. Seattle, really, is a good park to pitch in. They tell me that his ball straightened up a little bit last year.
“I’m not disappointed about anything. We recognize that we’re going to get him in a little better conditioning, and he’s going to work hard. That’s one thing we’ve been told, that he’ll work and we’ll go from there.”
Translation:
“They dumped this fat fuck in my lap and I’m not happy about it. Not only is he fat, but he sucks ass as well. His supposed “sinker” is batting practice and his breaking pitches are pathetic. How can you get obliterated like he did while pitching in Safeco? Jesus fucking Christ! I’ve traded one headache for another. I’m gonna run this tub of goo all spring long all the goddamn time."

You really can't make stuff like this up.
Lou is going to LOVE Carlos. I see them getting along really well.

Are you saying that
we’re not allowed to make fat jokes or that now that Silva is gone we are?
I'd answer your question
but I prefer to wallow in my own ambiguity
He's only 30?
He looks quite a bit older.

Hahahaha
I almost feel bad for Cubs fans
But not quite, because we lived this shit with Bavasi ourselves, so I have no spare sympathy to give
