Ken Griffey Jr. lost 7 pounds--again.
Geoff Baker out with the story today that Ken Griffey Jr. lost 7 pounds over the break.
Just got done chatting with Ken Griffey Jr. in the clubhouse and he told me he dropped seven pounds, mainly because he changed his eating habits slightly and also was able to do more work than last year once his knee surgery got done on Oct. 11.
On January 28th, the AP had the same story.
Griffin spent a few days with Griffey at his home in Florida this winter. The trainer said Thursday the slugger who turned 40 on Nov. 21 has lost about 7 pounds.
Then on December 15th, Larry Stone also reported on his weight loss. Can you guess how much it was back then as well?
Most importantly, Griffin said that Griffey feels great, is working out hard, and has lost six to eight pounds en route to his winter goal of losing 15.
To be fair, he is 40 with failing knees and people can plateau when working out.

He should have hired Jillian Michaels.
She gets people to drop 100+ pounds in a few months. :)

He supposedly lost 15 pounds last year and wanted to again this year. Imagine how big he must have been with the Reds and White Sox!
I’m betting that he’s on that new yo-yo diet or just likes to say that he slimmed down.
I guess that whats happen when you don't follow th diet over the holidays.
I would love to know what context he lost 7 pounds in. 7 pounds from the start of last season, since the end of the season, since after New Years?
Should we be proud of him for following through on his New Years resolutions? Demanding readers want to know!!

Muscle is denser than fat but 7 lbs of fat weighs the same as 7 lb of muscle
muscle just takes up less space while doing it.
You caught me.
Feels bad man.

I didn't realize how wide Will Smith's head was.
I just saw that it needed doing.

FWIW, Salk thinks Griffey looks fitter.
Drayer thinks he looks bigger across the chest and arms, so he may have replaced chunk for muscle.

Enigmatic Carlos Silva reported to camp out of shape, Piniella said. “We recognize (that) and we’re going to work on getting him in a little better conditioning, and he’s going to work hard.”

I think Griffey is just stuck
In some Groundhog-Day-esque hell of eternally plugging this movie despite the fact it sank without a trace over a year ago. Do he and Will Smith share an agent? Did he lose a bet?
You guys are killing me
Griffey is my favorite baseball player and Will is my favorite actor. This thread is stabbing me in the heart. Hey Griff showed up early to Spring Training that has to be a good sign.

Must be saving it for next year.
(Sometime in December)
His agent Brian Goldberg was quoted as saying, “The rehab is going well and with his new magic bike, I think he will be right back to where he was just a few years ago.”
Did Ozzie Smith ever get out of the Mystery Spot?
I mean, has anyone seen him lately? I worry about that, because of the lasting effects on the other players in that episode. Griffey’s head, Clemens still clucking like a chicken, etc
