Around SBN: Indy 500: 'Greatest Spectacle In Racing' Set For Sunday

I have no real analysis, but in my mind any team that acquires Yuniesky Betancourt loses.

This would seem to be a horrible trade by the Royals.

Which is why I’m inclined to believe that it’s true.

More and more people see to be picking this up, but they may be all picking up the same story.

Doubt we’ll hear anything official until the morning in any case.

RIP Dave Neihaus.

Dayton Moore was on a Kansas City radio station today.

He said he wanted a good fielding shortstop (Escobar), a righthanded outfeilder (Cain) and some additional pitching in return.

Especially with Z's ties to the Brewers

Depending on how their season goes, they could shop him next winter. Of course, we’d be one year renting again, but for 13.5 mil he’s probably worth that. As always it comes down to what the price is talent wise. Its nice to know Z can get them on the phone rather easily and be received comfortably. May or may not help us in trades with greater talent than Bill Hall, but the connection can’t hurt.

I have a cousin with 1 testicle, when they yell play ball, he smiles.

You think?

It looks like a pretty reasonable talent haul to me, though Jeffress is risky and Escobar didn’t hit well last year.

Milwaukee wins the "Swept by the Phillies in NLCS" sweepstakes.

But seriously, if they fall out of contention they flip Fielder and Greinke for some major prospects or get some first rounders when they walk and start over. Seems like a win.

Do they buy out Yuni?

Seems likely. But they are now out a shortstop and the market looks pretty thin beyond O-Cab. I guess he’s technically probably an upgrade over what Escobar put up last year, but who goes into the year with Yuni as their staring SS?

by Fuckmikereilly on Dec 19, 2010 12:22 PM PST reply actions

The Royals only sent enough money to buy out Yuni for 2012. The Brewers would have to take it on the chin for 2011.

Plus, the Brewers did just deal their starting shortstop from last year to the Royals in the trade, so Betancourt may actually have a little bit of use in Milwaukee.

Mute the Sounders. Malamute the Huskies.

This almost never gets said, but Dayton Moore's team will be fucking scary in 2 years.

The Royals have the best farm system in the history of ever. And to think, this talent will all be cheap at the same time. If I were in the AL Central, I would be afraid.

M's fan in PA, soon to be LA
