Maybe it's just that no one wants to look like a suck-up by sitting in the front of the class.

I got away with so much more shit by sitting in the front of the class.
It had nothing to do with being a suck-up, either. I just figured that the troublemakers would sit in the back of the class, so the teachers would naturally be watching that area more closely.
For at least my scholastic career, I was right. I got away with way too much sitting front right corner.
If I was a hungry man with a gun in my hand and some promises to keep...
