The Ravens game means I'm gameday only for this one
Not much good to a gamethread.

Rays!
"Ever tried? Ever failed? No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better." - Samuel Beckett Mariners Minors
The Rangers have never won the ALDS, or any other playoff series for that matter.
"Ever tried? Ever failed? No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better." - Samuel Beckett Mariners Minors
They tripled their post-season win total this week.
Which makes me sad. I like having a worse orginization than the M’s in the league. Now the Rangers are creeping up on us.

We say, as the Rays lead 3-0.

So, when did that Chrysler van commercial magically go from being a boy threated by bullies to a "race you home" ad?
That would make a lot more sense, as the "Race you Home." ad made no sense whatsoever.

This series is going perfectly
Either the Rangers blow a 2-0 lead in the series or every home team loses during it.
Why yes I think Longoria is awake now

Added to the list of "huh, he's still around?" players: Randy Choate.
Not that I should be surprised, given that he’s a LH reliever.

The power of the titanium necklaces clearly only works for the road team.
Based on this, Texas has Tampa right where they want them
I still can't believe this Dodge Challenger advert
Even though it’s on every damn break.
Also yay Rays
Things are closer than I would like them to be.
Even if the Rangers WE at this point is only 11.5%

Bobby Valentine's voice is kind of boring but he actually says some great stuff. I like the manager's perspective.
That's Valentine? He's alright
Not sure about that commercial break right in the middle of the play, what the hell was that all about
The same.

Sweet! Valentine just made the comment that Borbon acting like that was ball four amounts to calling out the ump.
And if the next pitch was anywhere close and he took, the ump would likely call it a strike. I’d love to know if that is actually true.
I wonder what Ho-Ram's up to
But boy am I glad we have that kid Lueke in our system
Here’s looking at you Z, don’t make that a ‘had’.
Game 5!

And I don't think the Yankees will be subject to the same swoon a lot of teams have...
where they tear through the first round or two and then get owned later, like the Rockies did.

It's funny because ball four was actually closer to the strikezone, going off gameday.

Granted, I haven't been watching every game of the postseason so far
but it seems to me that TBS taped enough different Conan spots so that they aren’t endlessly repetitive, which is really nice.

They should just have the umpires sit in the dugout with Bobby Cox.
He seems pretty sure he can see the plays better from there than the umpires do from the field.
You saw that strikeout.
He already is.

It's been so long since the M's have been in the playoffs
I’m not sure I could handle losing (again) in the postseason after all of this regular losing.

Braves win expectancy this inning:
92% (Ross FO), 84% (Ishikawa walk), 92.7% (Torres K), 86.6% (Sanchez single), 51.8% (Huff single), 14.7% (Posey reaches on error), 18% (Schierholtz K)

It should be noted that TBS pitchtrax looks to be a big pile of shit.
But yeah, Wilson was getting the calls.
That was a tough strike-3 call.

Normally I do not like watching pitchers bat.
After watching a year of 2010 Mariners baseball, it does not seem so bad.
I didn't think they looked good yesterday in orange tops
but then today I didn’t like the Braves in red

Why the fuck is Brooks Conrad playing second while Omar Infante plays third?
Bobby Cox is singlehandedly responsible for that loss. Shifting Brooks Conrad to second is not even like shifting Chone Figgins to second. It’s like shifting Troy Glaus to second.
For that matter, play Glaus or Hinske at third and Infante at second. Could it be any worse?
The batboy looks more like a major league player than Timmy does.

Stubbs competed with a fan for the home run.
It was pretty clearly in the stands though, and I don’t think Stubbs could have caught it.

generally considered the greatest painter of horses of all time. He also painted a lot of dogs.

right after telling us Hamels helps himself by not throwing a slider

Does Brandon Phillips walking in the dugout, tears streaming down his face, muttering to himself become the saddest image of the playoffs?
Hard work never killed nobody, but I won't take my chances.
Awww, :(
The Reds will be good for a while though. Seems like they have a bunch of talented young guys.
And they'll be more relaxed and ready next year for the playoffs because they can't possibly embarrass themselves more next year than they did this week.
Like water off a duck’s back. At least, that’s what I’d say if I were Dusty :)
They ran into a pitching juggernaut.
Luck of the draw and all that. They should be a fun team to watch next year. My possible bandwagon for next year.
