Casey Kotchman to the M's?
Buster Olney thinks so.

Looks like a pretty crappy trade.
I like defense as much as anyone, but Kotchman hits like a shortstop.
Good move if he's a role player,
but that seems unlikely.
The Hawks should be better.

Based on 'Role player, minor leaguer, and cash'
I would think we are trading away Bill Hall. Thats the only way the cash really makes sense to me. We give Boston the cash that we got with Hall, that is being used to pay his contract. I dont see why they would resign Langerhans and then trade him. In that scenario, why wouldnt Bostom have simply signed him?
Also, why would they want Kotchman at his salary,
When they could have Branyan for a little more?
Looks like we are filling one of our last holes here and saving some money, not much more room to put that money except for a starting pitcher.
Is the reason for this so that we can spend the rest of our remaining budget of a good starter?
Maybe that's all the room they have in their budget
And this was what they could do.

This makes no sense unless Boston's paying for it.

Maybe they bring in Garko
for a platoon, but then the roster gets pretty crowded.
