Ryan Zimmerman Should Have Kept His Mouth Shut
From Wednesday:
Zimmerman also praised recent moves by the front office, in the process hinting at something other than praise for the previous regime.
"This is the first offseason, I think, where they've actually gone after some people, and they've done some stuff that's legitimately made us a better team," he said early in the conversation.
Nevermind that this winter's big National acquisitions have been Jason Marquis and Matt Capps. It's about to get a whole lot funnier.
The Nationals have announced that they've agreed to terms with right-hander Miguel Batista on a minor league contract that includes an invitation to spring training.
Batista joins the Nationals after making 56 appearances with the Mariners in 2009, walking 39 and oh my god why would you do this

Theres nothing wrong with giving Miguel Batista a minor league contract.
They dont have to pay him anything, there is no risk.
Let me have some fun
Also there is the whole thing where he sucks a lot and is about 50 years old

They kept Griffey in Seattle for more than his playing abilities.
Maybe the Nationals just want somebody to play smooth jazz during team dinners.

He's the ugly girl that hot girls keep around to look better by comparison
They’ll trot him out there after Strasburg pitches a few innings in ST to make him look even sexier.

I don't think he will probably be following Strasburg in a game, unless Strasburg really sucks his first time out.
2009 Safeco Field Record: 6-0 ; Overall Safeco Field Record: 10-4
For everyone too lazy to look it up, which I usually am
That is quite amusing.

I liked the one right below that too.
If somebody would have asked me, what teammate will say you tried to give up a homerun? After laughing my answer would have been Tim Redding

This great offseason by the Nationals...
… is now on the same level as a few by the Kansas City Royals.
Once in a while, there will be a poll of Major Leaguers about something or other
and the answers they give are used to make a point of some sort. People forget that individuals who spend most of their lives training to catch throw and swing at baseballs are generally not good analysts.
