Chapman to sign with Reds
According to Yahoo! Sports, he'll sign for $30 million. Sounds like good news to me--we were never much of a favorite to get him, and on the off-chance that he does become an ace, he'll be out of our league, much less our division, for the next half-decade.
On a side note, I think this puts the final check on the list of Angels' crushed hopes this offseason?

Didn't see the Reds jumping in on him.
I know he’s a gamble, but I’m glad he’s not one that one of our competitors made.
While I understand that the chance that Chapman will live up to the hype is very low
I am still ecstatic that he is not going to the Yankees/Red Sox, if only because now we do not have to hear about him 24/7 for the rest of his career.
Seriously, just wait.
It doesn’t have to be Chapman, it could be anyone. The second I start to hear about some interesting prospect available on the international market, “(player’s name) yankees” is usually the second suggestion in google search.

Suck it Angels!
We don’t know if he has the command yet, but he would still be a big threat. Luckily, he’s out of the AL West and the American League all together, playing for a team that will go nowhere anytime soon.
Avatars make the site look pretty. I still don't have one.
Over 5 years.
Sure it’s a huge gamble, but the $30 million figure looks a lot worse than $6 million a year.
Somehow I’ll never view 100-mph throwing lefties the same way again after Matt Thornton.
FUCK THE ANGELS!

His career has a good chance to turn out a lot like Matt Thornton's.
Which is to mean Cincinatti might end up paying $30 million to develop him then see some other team reap the benefits.

I don’t think I heard the Reds mentioned in the “sweepstakes” all off season.
Angels are just hoarding money this offseason it seems.
I’d much rather see them take a bad risk and end up with a terrible, hamstringing contract. Same for the Red Sox and Yankees.
They're not hoarding it, they're out of it
After arbitration awards and such they’re at close to last years payroll.
