Probably, but Kevin Callabro asked point blank and he said he loves it here.
Loves the fans, family is comfortable, etc.
Fuck the Angels!
I tried listening on the Brock and Salk podcast site, but no Calabro / Felix to be found.
I’m happy he said that, and will convince myself that he meant it. I need him here for my mental and emotional health.
☊
Hard to tell over the radio, but he paused as if the question surprised him.
And then answered very positively that he loves it here.
Fuck the Angels!
Glancing at Royals vs. Yankees game.
Royals attempted a suicide squeeze with Yuni at the plate. Yuni misses the bunt leaving John Buck (stealing home) hanging out to dry.
Good ol’ Yunibomer.
So... Morrow...
I think he still has #3 potential and he’ll reach it by mid-2011.
But right now… I’m not exactly stoked to be watching him.
Ow.
“Phillies pitcher Jamie Moyer will require season-ending surgery to repair two torn muscles in his left groin and one in his lower left abdominal region. Moyer had sustained all three injuries in the seventh inning of Tuesday’s 7-4 win over the Astros. He told team doctor Michael Ciccotti he felt a sharp pain on his inner left thigh after throwing his final pitch of the game.”
Ow ow.
“Moyer fell off the mound after throwing a pitch that ended the seventh inning of Tuesday’s game and then limped off the mound with the help of catcher Paul Bako.
Dr. Ciccotti said rest would not completely repair the tears, but expects that surgery and the rehab that will follow will enable Moyer, who followed up with specialist Dr. Bill Myers, to be ready for spring training next year. “It’s not the type of injury you can really well-treat non-operatelively in order for him to get back to pitch at the level that he would want to be pitching at,” Dr. Ciccotti said. “It’s one that is really best treated surgically. And Jamie has all the qualities that you need to get back in terms of focus and dedication.”"

If Kenji goes back to Japan then I think we see quite a lot of Moore.
Unfortunately as Rob Johnson’s backup.
Fuck Anaheim.

This is worth like 3 times more than the average meme so help me Hector Christ if you people ruin it.
So if the elbow swells, does Johnson come in, or does Moore get a shot, as he has caught Morrow as well?
I'd go with Moore
As Rob Johnson wouldn’t be any better than injured Kenji.
Fuck Anaheim.

In somewhat related news, Moore is (yes, it is actually possible) uglier than Rohnson.
A Mariners fan in Seattle
Nope, he hasn't actually, just looked it up.
Apparently it’s 45 days on the active roster before September 1st. I didn’t know about the September 1st part.

Oh hey, the Phillies just pulled an Adenhart with Harry Kalas.
I wonder if they will hold a beer shower on a microphone as well?
It must happen.

Ichiro stand-up 3B, Jr HR to CF, chasing the Oakland starter in 1+ innings, Morrow with 3Ks through 2IP…

Is Piss a brand of something?
I’m unaware of the proper noun version.
I think Morrow looks sharp enough to win a game.
Does anyone agree?
Fuck the Angels and Yankees and Red Sox
Win? Sure.
Game day is showing an awful lot of balls this inning though, so I don’t know how deep he gets. I was getting irrational hopes after the first two innings.

Snell looks legitimately good in his last start and Morrow is looking legitimately good here.
FUCK THE ANGELS! FUCK THE ANGELS! FUCK THE ANGELS!
Morrow also loooked legitimately good in his first ever start.
I can’t get excited until I see it on a more regular basis.
Fuck Anaheim.
I am failing to see what you are getting at.

Oh, I see now.
You went from saying “never pitched and hit in the same season” to “never pitched and fielded in the same season.”
It's not actually all that terrible anymore.
But it’s a very boring lineup that seems to strike out a lot.

Why?
I doubt he had dreams of playing in Japan— IIRC, he didn’t much like it once he got there. I;m not even sure he finished out the year.
You're probably right.
It’s just that if I know something about baseball I assume most other people know it too so it seems odd when they don’t.

Saunders still hasn't hit a homerun
I’m not one hasty to call someone a bust, but I think we should dump him for a relief prospect while we still can
That was a nice play by Hannahan at 1B.
I wonder if he could handle a more challenging defensive position.

The Nationals had more money to spend on a player like that.
He would have simply held out until he could re enter the draft and be picked up by a more desperate team
But top pick pitchers are always busts
so we should probably thank them.

Does Morrow have 3 or 4 years remaining under team control?
Morrow
Animated by the ghost of Cy Young, innings 1-5.
Animated by the ghost of Steve Trout, inning 6 and beyond.
He's missing bats like a crazy person.
He is not walking people like a crazy person though…

I know it hardly counts, since Oakland is like a AAA team, but...
How sad would it be if a perfect game didn’t happen just because of Rahaji Davis’ infield hit?
It felt weird typing this and not sarcastically referring to the Mariners.

So, if the Ms win tomorrow, and Texas loses, then the Ms have a chance to pull into 2nd by sweeping the Rangers :)
Just got back from the game
Morrow was just absolutely brilliant. His stuff looked as good as I’ve ever seen it, excluding the near no-hitter. It’s a shame that half of the people at the game didn’t realize that it was more than appropriate to give a standing ovation when a guy pitches that well. Just an awesome game to be at all around.

Whoa, Shannon says there is a Felix interview coming up on the Calabro show.
Loosely quoting her, she says when behind in the count, Kenji believes in the fastball. Wakamatsu/Johnson are comfortable with the offspeed pitches. She said Don likes change ups and wants to see them, and Felix told her he now sees that he doesn’t have to throw a fastball when he’s behind in the count. Or when he’s ahead.
So that’s kind of exciting news.
Felix was on the Calabro show today
Her discussion about Joh & the fastball was a separate discussion— the Calabro/Felix talk was pretty vanilla, mostly Felix likes Seattle, his agent will do any talking with the team, blahdiblah
I wish they would podcast the "Beyond the baselines" audio
Felix’ quote tuesday to Shannon was "If you get behind the count, you don’t have to throw a fastball"
That sounds a little weird to me
I thought Johjima was the one more comfortable with throwing breaking balls/off speed pitches.
Hey I'm not talking numbers here, just what the guy is saying in his interview.
Shannon Drayer can do a good interview. If Felix says he’s into his fastball, I want to hear about it. I can find out if it’s true later.
Perhaps he is in most counts
what she was saying was that in talking to Joh, he had said that when the pitcher was behind in the count, he wanted to go fastball (she’s not sure why … she thought she was doing good to have pried that much out of him) She noted that Rob on the other hand was willing to call off-speed pitch in that situation, and wondered if that was one of the reasons some pitchers were more comfortable with him, than with arguing fastball with Joh.
