Jeff, you inspired me
In addition to being a regular LL reader and long-suffering Mariners fan, I also co-wrote and directed the upcoming movie "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs." At one point in the movie, we needed an ironically positive food-themed song for a montage about people obliviously and happily consuming to excess. I instantly thought of the joy I feel on Felix Day and it was clear the song needed to be the 1965 Lesley Gore hit "Sunshine and Lollipops." So if you go see the movie (and you should, this Friday September 18th, in 3-D), know that Lookout Landing was our muse. Also, Bill Hader, Anna Faris, Bruce Campbell, Andy Samberg, Neil Patrick Harris and Mr. Freaking T are in it, so I guarantee you will be entertained.

Awesome.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was one of my favorite books when I was a kid, though nobody had ever heard of it but me. A year ago I was trying to describe it to someone and they didn’t even believe that such a book existed.
Also, Bruce Campbell, Neil Patrick Harris, and Mr. T, all in the same movie? I’d watch it even if I didn’t know what it was.

I remember reading that book in elementary school and I couldn't believe it when I saw the trailer.
I’ll be seeing it for sure.
FUCK THE ANGELS! FUCK THE ANGELS! FUCK THE ANGELS!
I noticed quite a lot of e-flirting, again, between you and Shannon last night.
I was at Shea for the Felix-Slam!

You know you've made it when you influence a major motion picture.

I don't understand why they do not make it rain Baconnaise in this movie.

If there are scenes involving the torture of black people, it will be clear that Kermit has inspired them.

I was already planning on seeing it
since I loved the book as a kid, but now that I know an fellow LLer was involved, I shall double my efforts next weekend.
BTW, from the trailers at least, it looks like you guys did a great job! Thanks for bringing this classic to film. I can’t wait to see this and “Where the Wild Things Are”.

Whoa.
Not QUITE as good as davecameron’s cousin, but still pretty damn cool.
They showed a clip of this movie the other night when Bill Hader was on Conan.
It was a scene where Hader’s animated character was winding up and hurling snowballs at little children’s heads from point blank range. From the mind of an LL fan, of course!

I know I am going to see the movie in 3-D.
It should be good! I loved the book when I was a kid.

I've still yet to see any recent 3-D movies.
My 3-D experience is unfortunately limited to Terminator, Muppets and Honey I Shrunk the Kids attractions at theme parks. This is sad.
I saw Up in 3-D (I was with my girlfriend and the kids she nannies, so there is my alibi)
and it was really cool. It wasn’t out of control, rather it was just subtle 3-D here and there, it gave the movie a nice touch.
2009 Safeco Field Record: 6-0 ; Overall Safeco Field Record: 10-4
That's good.
I still will watch Toy Story and Toy Story 2 on occasion (I have the DVD). Probably the best family movie of all time. I can’t wait for Toy Story 3 next year!

Consider yourself officially exempt from my wrath sweetcakes, and if you’re lucky a little later I’ll let you play with my boomstick.

Sweet!
I’ve been looking forward to that — knowing an LL guy wrote/directed it just makes it all the better. Very cool.

So if we stay until the credits end we'll see our names, right?
(seriously, this is really cool, I wanted to see the movie anyway but now even more so)
Nice Guys Finish Third - My semantics are a waste of time.
Well shoot, this is a movie I have to see.
I loved this book growing up and even remember it being featured on Reading Rainbow. Now a movie that features NPH, Mr. T, Bruce Campbell and was created by an LLer? Fantastic.

Technically not cancelled!
Though the odds of it coming back seem slim.

Sadly it's not coming back
After the hunger strike in India protesting the Gandhi character (and the threats to revoke Viacom’s broadcasting license in India), Viacom prefers to pretend the show never existed. It would take a very surprising turn of events for them to want to bring the show back over appeasing a market of a billion people. Oh well. It’s still on those crazy interwebs the kids love so much.
Since it has been revealed that we have a hollywood writer in our community.
I wonder if he would help make The Whiteside Saga into a movie.

Never read the book..
But I’m definitely going to be seeing this.

Fantastic. I am absolutely seeing this movie.

Dude you won the weekend.
First round’s on you at the next meetup. Congrats. I know that’s probably not why you did this but that’s still gotta feel good.

Wow, it absolutely crushed the cometition...
It made more than the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grossing films this week combined. Take that Matt Damon, Jennifer Aniston, and Megan Fox!
I was going to say the same thing.
Congrats Chris.
