Wak said that it is the kind of problem that can become an injury when testing it, if it isn;t ready, and that the training staff wants him able to play the full game in the field when he does come back, so that it doesn't stiffen up on the bench.
Don't go, darling!
I see you are trying to chew your arm off. But alas! I have your glove!

I don't know...
but I don’t want to meet the person who can.
It's very sportscaster-y
Joe Buck has similar hair, but he’s going to need hair-in-a-can pretty soon.
~I'm on the DA~
I inferred that they wanted to know who fans thought was the best Mariner closer in their prime.
Since Norm Charlton is out of baseball and all. Putz at his prime was much better than Aardsma.
Yes, it was the pre-game poll. "Which Mariners closer did you have the most confidence in?"
Norm Charlton – 17%
Eddie Guardado – 6%
Kaz Sasaki – 36%
JJ Putz – 17%
David Aardsma – 24%
Oh, OK
I think a lot of the people who vote in those polls most likely focus on what’s going on this year. In his prime, I would far rather see JJ.
~I'm on the DA~
I would much rather not see J.J. Putz in the 9th.
I assume the question was about pitching, in which case, if J.J. Putz was pitching in the 9th, that would mean the Mariners, who I guess were facing the Mets, would be tied or trailing at the time.
Seeing David Aardsma in the 9th could mean many things.
If they were facing the Mets it could be the World Series!
…or some interleague game in June.
I never really liked the old tagline.

So what is the general consensus here

I was just wondering, as I am conflicted.

If (like my mother was able to) I could knit without looking, I might go.
But as I have to stare at what I am doing, and count out loud, and often take back out what I have just done, I don’t think it is for me.
It just seems contrary to everything I know as a baseball fan.
I can appreciate them trying to fill the seats, but it’s just strange.
~I'm on the DA~
As Norville pointed out, you can occupy your hands and enjoy the ballgame
I think the count is now some 20 teams doing the promotion
Yeah
I thoguht that I had heard that they were doing it in other cities.
I just get absorbed in the game and talking to friends about the game; I don’t even bother to take notes anymore because I just like watching the thing progress. I think knitting would be too much distraction for me. Also, clapping might prove dangerous.

I've heard that the Mariners dvd that's being given out before tomorrow night's game will also be available to purchase.
Can anyone verify this for me?
Nice quick turn by Wilson. Wow.
I fucking hate you Mariners
In play outs might be the best kind of changeup
Don't believe the lies Bill!!!! look at the sparkly ERA!!! Sparkly, Sparkly!!! - McCovey Chronicles
Blowers says that the Royals fed off of Greinke's hot start for a while.
Huh. What do you know, he’s right. At one point this season they were 18-11. Good on them.
I love you, David Neihaus, but you need to quit broadcasting.
Him leaving would just mean more of the other announcers
all of whom have fewer redeeming qualities.

If you're referring to the horrible umpiring than I doubt it
My Mariners blog - SodoMojo Twitter Feed, Fuck the fucking Angels!
I wonder if this will be addressed by a member of the media by the end of the year.
It’s fucking horrible. And I think we all know robots won’t be happening anytime soon.
Illegible
People say this but it is not true.
Most likely it will be roughly true, but there is nothing that states luck has to even out for a given player, or team, over the arbitrary 162 games.

Good thing that games are never determined by a single run and playoff appearances by a single game.
Umpires screwing up and altering the outcome is not a good thing and it’s baffling that it’s tolerated at all.

Matt White
VERO BEACH, Fla. — Matt White, a journeyman pitcher trying to make the Los Angeles Dodgers, could become baseball’s first billionaire player.
It has nothing to do with his arm. He owns a rock quarry in western Massachusetts.
White, who has appeared in seven big league games in nine professional seasons, paid $50,000 three years ago to buy 50 acres of land from an elderly aunt who needed the money to pay for a nursing home.
While clearing out a couple acres to build a home, he discovered stone ledges in the ground, prompting him to have the property surveyed.
A geologist estimated there were 24 million tons of the stone on his land. The stone is being sold for upward of $100 per ton, meaning there’s well over $2 billion worth of material used for sidewalks, patios and the like.
Your favorite meme is dead
Yes, their defense seems to be pretty bad
And with the HRs coming from unlikely quarter I guess this will be a fluke loss.
But fluke or not, we lose a chance to make up a game (Red Sox lost today) against a poor team.
Sorry, should be, unlikely quarters
(some keys on my pad are unsensitive)
I'm sure there are plenty of Mariners who would like to defend Branyan's hole.
