A small part of me would of been pissed if Washburn had thrown that perfect game.
Because goddamnit, nobody on this team deserves a perfect game before Felix.
But well done Washburn. Wow.
The Rise of a Superstar:Justin Upton-.425 wOBA, 21 years old.
Felix doesn't deserve squat until he stops pitching stupid.
At least Washburn does the best he can with what he’s got.

Plus perfect games and no-hitters depend on a lot more than the pitcher.
Nice Guys Finish Third - My semantics are a waste of time.

Washburn threw a great game today.
He doesn’t have the talent that Felix does, but that should only challenge Felix to pitch better.

Remember, Felix is still young.
Felix is headed to his first all-star game, and should have many years ahead of him contending for Cy Young honors and All-Star games. Washburn on the other hand, unless the Mariners make the playoffs, this should be the high point in his career.

I recall two or three line drives.
One Branyan snagged and I think Langerhans got two.
But I am not sure what is officially a line drive. I know there were several deep fly balls and a bunch of ground outs.
I count 5 on Gameday and I think they were a little generous on classifying a couple deep line drives as flyballs
It wasn’t a terrible outing but he was extremely lucky to come away with a 1-hitter.
TRADE
Did anyone else see the dad giving his ~7 year old daughter a pink Mariners hat in the bottom of the 8th?
She appeared to have the same reaction I would have if someone gave me a pink Mariners hat.
I think that Washburn pitching a perfect game would have made him less likely to be traded.
I mean, how could Z justify trading someone who just pitched a perfect game while his team is making a run for the playoffs? Instead, this game will probably be forgotten in a week by everyone except Jarrod Washburn.
