SO, if you are the ump, do you feel abashed when Ichiro gives you that look?
The way you should have been, had you gotten it from Edgar?
Wow Washburn is pitching very well tonight.

I know he's meant to be a stopgap
But I’m totally fine keeping Langerhans next season. We have plenty of other holes to fill, and we could do worse than a patient lefty with good defense and a low average.
We'll see how Saunders does but I'm with you
and Langerhans is under team control.

At the very least Langerhans is a good 4th outfielder

I think I'd prefer him as a fourth OF to Endy
And if we don’t have Griffey/Sweeney, he could DH sometimes.

We probably could though

I'm so happy that if the Nats were going to be stupid they were stupid with the Mariners.

He's a hell of a lot better than Mike Morse.

Can anyone tell me about Anthony Varvaro?
I remember us drafting him a couple of years ago. He would have been early round talent, but had just had TJ surgery. We just converted him to relief, and he’s been pretty good in AA, but it could be a complete fluke. Any minor league experts?

What do we make of this guy?
For a guy on a 43 game hitting streak in the Cal League, his numbers aren’t THAT impressive.
Is this like Ryan Franklin throwing back to back no hitters? (of the 7 inning variety)
Damn.

You get shredded on Baker’s blog if you mention trading ANYONE on the current roster.
People are truly convinced that this team is the real deal. They don’t realize that keeping this team in tact is only going to cost wins in 2010 and possibly 2011.
Fortunately Baker's posters don't influence Zdurencik's decision making.

Only if we can't trade Bedard's glass ass for a SS.
Otherwise, Washburn for a new SS to fill a badly needed hole.
Well, I figure Washburn, unlike Bedard, has actually pitched in September in recent years.
The stuff may not be as good, but if I am a GM, I have to take that into consideration.

Franklin Gutierrez-OF-Mariners Jul. 7 – 12:57 am et
Franklin Gutierrez went 3-for-4 with a double in a win over the Orioles on Monday night.
His bat has heated up as of late. This was the fourth time in his past nine games that he has notched three hits, and he’s hitting .500 during that span. He’s raised his seasonal average to .293 with the hot streak, and figures to remain in the middle of the lineup as long as he keeps raping.
Trade for Ian Snell.
