Another disappointing loss. Lopez was the only bright spot tonight..
Back to back nights our starters our the biggest suckfests, go figure.
Great caption Jeff
On the photo. The storm was a lot worse here in Ft. Worth than at the ballpark, still a pretty long delay. One thing I don’t fathom – Angels and how they snatch games away that they have appeared to have lost. TX is 7-2 head to head with them so far, with 10 games with them left. Can’t anybody else kick their anthropoid tails?

With all the errors made by the Twins they kind of handed the game to the Angels.
Plus Blackburn is really no where near as good as he is advertised to be. He has been shelled badly in his last three starts.
Mike Napoli speaks softly and carries a big stick.
Looks like it's Lopie's turn to carry the offense
Do the Mariner’s draw straws every 4 weeks to see who has to carry the offense for the entire month?

Padres scored 11 runs tonight
We’re only 6 runs ahead of the Padres now for the year.
Just did some searching and here are the AL teams dating back to 1973 (DH) that scored fewer runs than all NL teams for the entire year
1978 Oakland A’s 532 runs 69-93
1979 Oakland A’s 573 runs 54-108
1981 Toronto Blue Jays 329 runs 37-69 (strike shortened)
1983 Seattle Mariners 558 runs 60-102
1988 Baltimore Orioles 550 runs 54-107
1991 Cleveland Indians 576 runs 57-105
1998 Tampa Bay Devil Rays 620 runs 61-101
1999 Minnesota Twins 686 runs 63-97
2002 Detroit Tigers 575 runs 55-106
2006 Tampa Bay Rays 689 runs 61-101
Mariners have the opportunity to be the first DH enhanced team to have the worst run production for the year and yet have a winning record

Good Job!
That’s pretty darn incredible.

This team hasn't been DH enhanced since Edgar.

As far as I can understand
No-one’s ever had as good a DH as Edgar.
Fuck Anaheim.

Fucked if I know
I’m just trying to ge get to grips with the whole ‘living in the past’ thing that Mariner fans seem so keen on.
Fuck Anaheim.
Raul Ibanez in 2005 seems to be the closest to that.
It’s too bad Bavasi didn’t care about defense, he could’ve been more valuable at DH, but I am just stating the obvious here.
2009 Safeco Field Record: 5-0 ; Overall Safeco Field Record: 9-4
Incidentally, I would like to invite anybody that has entertained the idea trading Felix to suck my cock.
Fuck Anaheim.

But Pujols/Hanley/Longoria/Hill/Upton/Price/Weiters/Scherzer/Rasmus/Beckham/Escobar!
You got slurved!

So, we re-sign Bedard to a multi-year contract?
I hear he and Carlos are good buds

We should sign him to a multi-year contract and replace his injury-prone places of his body with..
robotic ones. That way he couldn’t get injured.
Good gravy half of the comments in this thread are awful

Last night's open thread post-rain-delay was about as barren as the Ballpark
Sean White pitched pretty well, though. He even gave a walk to Batista.
