I can't tell if this is sarasm or if you just aren't nerdy enough to properly identify that costume.

You've left yourself open for an explanation.

That guy is dressed as a Space Marine from Warhammer 40,000, not a Marine from Starcraft.

I grew up on SC and never played Warhammer
Plus, Jeff looks like a skinnier Jim Raynor

I thought so.
I get by on technicality. I had a friend who played it and recognized it from there, but I’ve never touched the stuff myself.

I never played the tabletop, but I played the PC games.
I may be a big nerd, but I’ve never had the patience for assembling and painting hundreds of little tiny figurines.

Indeed
I asked this guy to stand for the photo, and he did not mention anything regarding baseball, craft beer or emergency survival blankets.

This is the exact reason I want to go to ComicCon one of these days
I have less than zero interest in comic books, and while I do enjoy comic-book based films and whatnot I don’t really care about getting sneak previews or attending Q&A’s; I just want to wander around and gawk at adults who seem to think walking around like that is a desirable thing to want to do.

Dorks like the above were not nearly the freakiest people I saw yesterday
Like, the Star Trek green chick in full makeup walking around the Gaslamp in 84 degree heat. So awesome.

It's only 84 by the water
arggghghghgh

So...........
If I want to find a naive 18 year old hottie wearing a skimpy latex costume who is in to roleplaying I can just go to one of these Comic-Cons instead of Deja Vu/Honeys?

The stars of Twilight were there
including Ashley Greene… I really wanted tickets =(

Comic-Con isn't just about comic books.
I’ve never been a comic book fan, but I would still go to Comic-Con if I had the opportunity because of the gaming industry presence and I am a massive gaming nerd.

Yeah, not much of a gamer either
There’s really nothing at Comic-Con that holds the slightest bit of appeal for me except the people watching.

I still haven't gone. Someday there will be something I care about in the slightest.

In the past and this year I've only attended for two reasons:
1. Free passes to witness the dorkfest, or
2. Cash under the table to help sell stuff to the dorks.
I would have been fuming if I paid to get in this year. The walkways were extremely crowded. Also, uber-nerds apparently have a resistance to proper hygiene. They stink.

My friend used to go every year before he got a job with Nike up here.
He went as an L-block from Tetris one year.

I think my favorite part is how each is carrying a fanny pack/manpurse
And also the fact that they look like they’ve just been laid off from crappy middle management jobs.

Went out in the Gaslamp Saturday night after Demetri Martin
Those were my favorite people-watching hours of all time.
