This doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me..

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but Bob Klapisch on Northjersey.com has a piece up where he talks about the Halladay trade rumors, but he also throws in a piece about the Yankees and Jarrod Washburn..

The M’s reportedly asked the Yankees for Melky Cabrera and Brett Gardner, which is why the talks never gained momentum. It’s unlikely Washburn is going anywhere at this rate

This seems to be old information, didn't Pelekoudas ask for those two last year? Why would we be trying to get two outfielders back for Washburn at this point? What with Saunders, Gutz and Ichiro in the OF mix along with Langerhans.. Just doesn't make much sense to me.

Yeah that's old

The Yanks have a pretty smart FO. I doubt they want Washburn starting the their new stadium. I’m crossing my fingers for Jarrod to Philly for Carrasco.

The thing is, this was posted recently

Check the date stamp on the article. It’s from the 26th of THIS year.

Sorry, no coffee yet

I wanted to throw in that while that the particular news may have been from last year, the article makes it appear recent, so anyone not familiar with last year’s discussions could easily take it that way. It was posted on MLBTR as a current issue, as well.

But the info is totally irrelevant at this point

right? I mean between Ichiro, Guti, Langerhans, Saunders, and all the dudes in AA/A we really have no need for the Melky Cabrera type when they have a chance to get a RH starter for him. Unless it’s a kinky threeway where one of of those two goes to the Pirates with.. i dunno Rob Johnson? for Ian Snell. But I’m just rappin. Considering the demands being made for Halladay and Lee, Washburn may well be the best value out there unless you look under the surface. I expect something nice back for him.

Oh, I agree

I’m just saying, I can see why the article itself is confusing.
