I wouldn't say that, we have Felix, Wash, and Bedard going the next 3 games

Which would be good, except the Angels never seem to lose.

They're playing the A's, so my hopes for gaining any ground the next 3 days aren't real high

pfft, Angels
It seems like they never play good team (not true) and always narrowly miss aces (might be true!).
What losers.
Winning against another team’s ace is so uncool. You never see us pulling such a lame-o move.
Well we miss Verlander and Edwin Jackson in Detroit
and should theoretically miss Cliff Lee in the next Cleveland series, though they could use the off day to get him an extra start.

And we miss Halladay in the Toronto series
But yeah, damn those lucky Angels!

If the Angels get Halladay or Lee, the pooch is screwed
Shannon Drayer made this observation first about Halladay, to give credit where it’s due. Pray for trades to the NL.
Chicks dig the long ball.
But if the Angels had to give up Weaver to get him, would the upgrade still be big enough to force us to completely give up hope?

Never give up hope!
Of course we don’t give up hope. But if that kind of trade were announced soon, might change GMZ’s plans for now vs. future.
I think too much focus has been on the sell vs buy, for which I blame Brock & Salk. GMZ said it’s never that black & white, you are always trying to upgrade your team. And results now are better in general than results in the future, since players get injured, ticket sales drop and revenue decreases, etc.
Chicks dig the long ball.
The Angels have no shot in hell at trading for Roy Halladay
they have absolutely nothing of value in their system

The Jays are asking for three frontline, almost MLB-ready, top 100 prospects - the Angels have none (maybe Brandon Wood, but he's not really a prospect anymore)
This is what the Jays will ask for.
But the Angels are 25/30 in Baseball America’s farm rankings, have no sure thing prospects, had their best prospect (Adenhart) die tragically this April, and had a pretty lame draft by most accounts. Here’s Sickels on the Angels, and here’s Dave Cameron.
Unless something unexpected happens, the only way the Angels could get Halladay is if they (insanely) agreed to eat most of Vernon Wells’ contract for the Angels, and they aren’t crazy enough to do that (they’re a pretty well run team, overall).
I don't think you do
this wasn’t baseball, this was ‘baseball’.

I enjoy the fact that we are still 3 games above .500.

I'm happy for Ronny Cedeno that he hit another HR.
Maybe Langerhans will hit one too.
ignacio
He is definitely Ce:Deno this time, thanks.

It's only Ce:Deno if he starts being a little more consistent
until then days like yesterday he is Ceden:o.
(is that how you do a surprised face? I’m not big on emoticons.)

Whenever I type :o I intend it to make a different face than the typical surprised one...
Probably my favorite emoticon ever, from the days when I was a double nerd and posted at not just baseball blogs but Superhero Hype as well. When I see :o I always thinks of this:
It’s supposed to be an embarrassed face. I think embarrassment probably sums Cedeno up pretty well this season.

Baseball is heartache...
frosted with disappointment and only occasionally filled with cream.
It wasn’t so much that we lost, which given the pitching matchup wasn’t a surprise, but how we did it. Our ability to lose badly to teams in the cellar continues to surprise me, as much as our ability to beat great teams.

Wak says Olson will stay in the rotation
Fantastic. Now there are no positives to be taken from this game.
One positive: the game is over
And just maybe Olson’s going to be part of some trade. As awful as last night was, he probably still looks decent to the Brewers, the Mets, the Phillies, the Marlins, the Padres, the Angels, and maybe even the Yankees.
Chicks dig the long ball.
Brandon Morrow is the closer and he will go to Tacoma to get stretched out for the rotation and he will stretch himself out at the MLB level and he will go to Tacoma to work on his breaking pitches.
There are no guarantees that Olson stays in the rotation.

Larry Stone quoted Wak as saying Olson would make his next start
There’s still a chance RRS and Morrow take the 4 and 5 spots later this month. My point is, by then, we could be out of contention, and Olson is not the best option to start right now for this team.
