I know the Rangers are strapped for cash, but seriously, you can get pictures taken at Sears for like twenty dollars.

To be fair to the Rangers

It is only his second MLB start, and his first wasn’t great.

Krueger's gone Grecian!

Turned on FSN and thought they’d got a new commentator. But it was the same old awesome Bill Krueger, just with darker hair.

Who's this Mark guy interviewing Sweeney though?

Where’s Angie or Nicole?

I actually bought a Betancourt t-shirt.

by Hopefulmsfan on Jul 12, 2009 12:40 PM PDT up reply actions

Maybe the cleavage was distracting.

It’s been pretty funny watching the guys in the dugout try very hard not to look down when Angie or Nicole are doing the interviewing.

Pena replaces Pedroia on the All-Star roster

that game is so much bullshit and Branyan has been better than Pena in almost every way imaginable.

They need to do away with the whole system.

Not that I trust every baseball writer, but if you had a 30-man panel pick the team it would at least be somewhat more fair.

by Fuckmikereilly on Jul 12, 2009 1:15 PM PDT reply actions

That isn't going to happen.

Bedard takes at least 7 pitches per AB.

Maybe he was born and raised in Chicago but moved to Seattle.

Sure, he loves the Cubs, but he likes to watch live baseball. What can he do? It’s a long trip to fly to Chicago just for a Cubs game, and the M’s are AL. The poor guy just has to watch Mariners games. Also, it’s sunny out.

it should be that the local media can vastly distort the image of a player or situation.

Sometimes I wonder if Krueger actually knows a lot about baseball

his statements are so the opposite of true that the only way they could be so untrue is if he really knew the truth and was being far too sarcastic for anyone to notice.

Also from Baker
Wakamatsu said the team is planning to activate Chad Cordero for some minor league games down in Arizona. No, there hasn’t been a real increase in Cordero’s velocity from what it had been previously. The team just figures getting Cordero in a game might cause the velocity to spike.

Jeff Zimmerman had a setback related to soreness in his arm and hasn’t pitched in a while.
