If so, color me impressedd.
Ibanez just blew it: "Ibanez so near and yet so far" says Vin Scully
Double for the Dodgers. Jumped up and the ball touched all sorts of his glove before being dropped.

It’s not free though, unless you do something to make it be free.
GIFs on request are so fucking dead meme'd
and the ultimate in trying to fit in.
Have you met LL?
There’ll just be a ton more GIFs on stuff that doesn’t need to be GIF’d and they’ll be posted wily-nily to slow down threads.

I’m tired and wasn’t thinking. There’s no such thing as a program for making gifs, ignore me.
Danielle Lawrie was laughing at him earlier, because he was to catch her ceremonial pitch, and he kept asking her what she was going to throw.
She said she decided to take it easy on him, if he was going to be such a baby

Pitch f/x...
has Felix at 3 change-ups tonight…that’s simply not true. He threw that pitch 15 times at least tonight and it was dominant.
Top 8, tie game, runner on second, 2 down

Well, he didn't really get hit very hard.

haha...
My favorite part of that play is that I believe Lopez gets charged with an error.
by PLU Tim on Jun 5, 2009 9:28 PM PDT reply actions 1 recs
Play assumes one out, and one out was recorded
it will be scored Busched reaches on FC, Tolbert out at home
hmm...
So if a ball goes through the legs of a 2B and the hitter/runner tries for 2B and gets thrown out, it’s not an error?
That would be, because the fielder wouldn't have a choice until the batter-runner had already reached base safely (first)
in this case, since Tolbert was already on base, theoretically Lopez had a choice to attempt to throw out Tolbert or throw out Buscher – it doesn’t matter which one he gets.
But I may be wrong on this, because he may have needed to throw out Tolbert at third rather than home to avoid the error, but it doesn’t look like they charged him with one, so I’m assuming they scored it the way I had originally. (by “had,” I meant “said,” not that I’m actually scoring a game on MLB.tv)

with the analysis of posters like Robert and Fogel, I feel very out of place trying to have discussions with these luminaries

also, first time to compliment Rob Johnson, he didn’t get hit as much as he drilled Tolbert

Gameday has Aardsma in. Is this untrue?

This is true
But he used it as a reply to a joke about Josh Hamilton doing crack

Oh god that was glorious.
Even my Korean girlfriend was clapping for Ichiro.
by Smegmalicious on Jun 5, 2009 9:39 PM PDT up reply actions
Seriously why does he always go to Aardsma?
White is perfectly capable of pitching more than one inning
If he gets Span out, no worries.
And it will be another of our frightening relievers taking on Mauer and Morneau.

You may not be aware, but Randy Johnson once played for the Mariner's and he just recently won his 300th game.
50!
You may not be aware, but Matthew is one of the mods on this site
and thus is probably aware of the team’s history
No one better hit a fucking walkoff before Ichiro comes up
Oh, who am I kidding, that isn’t a real concern
My Mariners blog - SodoMojo
What the fuck I thought Griffey was pinch hitting
Why did they change that plan, it was a good one
My Mariners blog - SodoMojo
Had there been fewer than 2 outs
Griffey would have probably hit.
Hooray pitches that are strikes being called balls
because it’s not where the catcher set up.
Someone can't read the rules.

I dunno about the Mauer ball
that looked like it really sliced away from him. The Tolbert ball was hit right where he should have been though
by seattlebruin on Jun 5, 2009 10:07 PM PDT up reply actions
Yeah he should have
But they were both fairly difficult plays. Difficult plays he should’ve made though.
The second ball was very catchable.
He took a shitty route to it.
So was the first.
He went back and found the wall and forgot there was a fucking baseball he had to catch.
GOD I HATE YOU WLAD
Determined, Jonesing Commentor | Proud proprietor of Wyomingroutes.org & Washingtonhighways.org
He threw ONE offspeed pitch that inning.
And it was a change up. He got seven swinging strikes in one inning against the Twins earlier this year – all off his slider. Why doesn’t he go back to that pitch?
Mauer, Morneua, Kubel are lefties and the slider issn't the best pitch to throw.
But Lowe has a pretty good change-up that he wasn’t throwing of course.
You got slurved!
Free Tommy Hanson! Free Jeff Clement! Free Michael Saunders!
This inning was really one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
Idiot fielding, all-world catch, blown squeeze, idiot fielding. Beautiful.
FUCK YOU WLAD AND YOUR FUCKING ONE HOMERUN
and shit defense

Blowers just wondered aloud if something was wrong with Endy or Yuni, as they are both still on the bench here
Which is dumb
I’m starting to question whether he really knows what he’s doing.
Why the fuck would they PH for Gutz and not Cedeno
That is absolutely retarded
My Mariners blog - SodoMojo
This is the first time I'll say it all year:
This is fucking stupid Wakamatsu.
Unless he’s just punishing Yuni and wants to make sure he doesn’t touch the field.
Keeping Cedeno in the game
so he makes sure Yuni doesn’t see the field.
Now you use Griffey?
I don’t get why Wakamatsu seems to think Gutierrez is the worst hitter on the team
This game is 100% on Wlad.
I know this isn’t true, but so what.

OH MY GOD WAK SHOULD BE MURDERED AND THEN FIRED AND THEN MURDERED AGAIN
THERE IS NO WAY THIS TEAM WILL EVER WIN ANOTHER GAME EVER
I WOULD ARGUE IN THE TRUEST SENSE
BECAUSE GAME WINNING HITS USUALLY INVOLVE RUNNING!
The last time I felt that ill at the end of a game
was USC vs Stanford a few years ago. USC vs Stanford was way worse.

I know Wlad is out of options,
But why the fuck is he on this team. The only thing that made him special was power, and now he has none.
by Manzanillos Cup on Jun 5, 2009 10:19 PM PDT reply actions
I'm just going to pretend that Kubel went yard
Fucking Mark Lowe has the most hittable high-90’s fastball in the league
I love it.
Rizzs soft-soaping it (“a ball just beyond the reach of Balentin”) and Dave following up with the blunt comment that Wlad should have caught those balls
who freaking cares. Pitch counts are so lame.
Every pitcher should try to emulate Roy Halladay. Our bullpen is going to blow it for sure every time. Leave felix in
In his defence, it sounds like sarcasm taken too far.
by JamMasterJesus on Jun 5, 2009 10:39 PM PDT up reply actions
I don't know
based on the sample size of this subthread I don’t believe you’re capable of putting together a rational argument against Don Wakamatsu’s managing style.
Post game
Wak mentions the poor route(s) Wlad took, and when asked about defensive replacement says that you have to find out what Wlad can do out there, and you won’t find that out if you pull him early in games.
I agree to a point, but 9 innings is more than enough for that.
Endy should be out there in the highest leverage situations – particularly with a flyball pitcher pitching.
Thanks for pointing this out, by the way. I don’t have access to the post-game show, so this is helpful.
Wak also pointed out that the game should never have gotten to that point, that they had chances to win earlier
Cool, just checking. There's been a few tweeks since they changed radio stations.
I wasn’t sure if that part was still the same.
I'm wondering if Yuni was sick or something.
Cause that’s pretty much the only way to explain pinch hitting for Gutz instead of Cedeno.
Pitman is ignoring all those draft rumors
and going straight to an interview with Ackley’s college coach,
I read this in Yahoo sport rankings:
So, every afternoon, Ichiro Suzuki and Ken Griffey Jr. nod and greet each other the same way. Ichiro: "George." Junior (given name George): "Pimp." How great is that?
