Today's Fun Fact
As of this writing, there are 38 position players in the Major Leagues listed at a max of 6'0 and 180 pounds. Their average contact rate as a group is 85.8%, which makes sense, given that a little guy who doesn't put the ball in play is a little guy who doesn't produce. We should expect the ones selected for the big leagues to be able to make a lot of contact. Of those 38, however, Ronny Cedeno currently ranks last, at 74.5%. That little guy has been swinging out of his little shoes.

I find it upsetting that Ronny so far has had only 52 AB.
I was at Shea for the Felix-Slam!
Personal M's record: 5-4.

That wasn’t really the point behind La Cage aux Foilles.

I can only hope that his contact rate would increase given more plate appearances.
He had ~80% in ‘06 in over 500 PA. He’s been plus-80% in every year prior to this year.

I'm sure he's better than this
He’s just looked bad to date.

He's probably not really this bad.
In any case, I find comfort in the fact that Heilman completely blows this year and Olsen might not, because how I think of a player is determined entirely by how much the team paid for his performance.

so let’s see, with the conversion rate between “Baseball Height” and real height …
Well the Rockets list Aaron Brooks at 6 ft even.

Rickey Henderson and David Bell were both "5’10"" and Mac, Bournigal, Tom Lampkin (and for a while, Edgar) all checked in at "5’11""
