I don't understand how Jason Vargas isn't from New Jersey.

I hope Ichiro does something amazing tonight
so that I can listen to Vin Scully get excited.

Matt Kemp destroys lefties too.
Dodgers fans are not so happy about it.

Joe Torre's line up construction
and bull pen management skills are not particularly good.
A lot of times I feel like the Dodgers win in spite of him.

Jose Lopez is hitting cleanup
I think that is something if a testament to our offense.

Padres have the bases loaded!
I smell come back.

How Marinerstastic
bases loaded no out and they get 1 run.

I think "dread" is more accurate for me
Last time we had this important a stretch, it was LollaBLUEza.

I love Johjima!
Good to see him back, except for the fact that he has that terrifying sub-Johnson catcher ERA!
Ah my namesake.
Fuck you, Mike Reilly.

Dave just said that AB had been 'the darling of Los Angeles'
I always thought they didn’t really appreciate him
Dodgers fans have been booing former Dodgers players for a while now.
Even Nomar got booed when he came back with the A’s.
Its a bit odd as a Dodgers fan.
I imagine they boo him for the same reason A-Rod gets booed in Seattle.
What is the past tense conjugation of to boo? Booed, Bood, or Boo’d?
Fear the NPE
So Texas is up 10-2 and LA is up 6-0
It’s only the first inning and we already have virtually no chance of gaining any ground today

Don't worry.
He has yet to face the last 5 of our 6 straight righties. Murderer’s row right there.

It's for the LA Sherrif's department.

I think its safe to say no one will claim him
I think its a way to put him back in Tacoma since he has no options.
2009 Safeco Field Record: 4-0 ; Overall Safeco Field Record: 8-4
Those seats front and center are pretty expensive.
Not Yankees expensive of course, but they cost a pretty penny.
old doesn't mean it sucks.
Besides, they’re been doing renovations at and around Dodgers stadium the past couple of years.
No. It's a really cool place to watch a game.
It’s got a really nice simple but classic feeling to it. Plus it’s always warm.
The Phillies and Dodgers both draw more than the Mets?
That surprises me for some reason.
Fear the NPE
Regression to the mean!
You got slurved!
Free Tommy Hanson! [FREED]! Free Jeff Clement! Free Michael Saunders!
Staking the youngster to an early lead.
And the Dodgers haven’t lost three in a row all season long (they lost their last two).
Let's just win 1 game this series, the one Felix pitches
I’ll be happy with that.

Here, something to distract you guys from the game

That reminds me
I enjoyed the insider article linked at the bottom of that article saying whether we should buy or sell (she said buy).
Is his family from Haiti? The Caribbean or something?
Because then it would make a lot of sense.
I don't know how to stop.
What the hell are you doing here, Tripon?
You’re only supposed to be at BBTF. It’s weird seeing you here…like a stripper running into a client at a parent-teacher conference or something.
I don't know how to stop.
After considering how many times he gets caught stealing
I retract my original comment

Good, but Greg's was funnier because it required you to work slightly more to grasp the tastelessness.
I don't know how to stop.
Actually Pierre is good at stealing bases
he just get caught a lot because he makes more attempts.
Therefore mine is the superior quip.
Furcal has been a real suckfest this year.
Another nice move by Colleti.

Rob Johnson: How'd you do that, Kenji?
Kenji: Well first off, you don’t drop the ball.
I still don't get why Russell Martin has J.Martin on his jersey...that some kind of french/canadian thing?

Anybody listening to Scully. It's a real joy, but not sure where he got this gem
“There are some that say Jose Lopez reminds them of a young Roberto Alomar”
I see it. Spitting image.
I fucking hate you Mariners
He is reading a report that is about 5 years old.
I remember when movies cost 5$ and Jose Lopez was concidered one of the M’s top prospects!
Just the man we want to see coming up with the bases loaded and one out.
CAN YOU SAY GUARANTEED GIDP?
I don't know how to stop.
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
You got slurved!
Free Tommy Hanson! [FREED]! Free Jeff Clement! Free Michael Saunders!
This game is already looking like a lost cause
Vargas looks absolutely terrible

Let's give up like 30 hits in this game so they're so tired from running that they can't play well tomorrow
That’s a good strategy! Right??!?!

Nice turn...I think we still got a shot....Kurshaw is starting his usual 4th or 5th inning unraveling...

We have Balentien, Cedeno, and Vargas coming up this inning

This commercial makes no fucking sense to me.
Seriously, why do that many people in the office need to know how to contact their bank?
Fear the NPE
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
You got slurved!

End! End! End!

Fuck I just realized the Dodgers are one of the best teams in the Majors.
And we’re not.
I don't know how to stop.
Well at least we seem to be good at losing the first game of a series
And then winning the next two…
Why boo Beltre.
They probably don’t make the play-offs without him in ’04.
At least A-Rod is a genuine douche and deserves it.
Johjima's CERA is taking a beating this game.

I can't wait until the Dodgers get those negative runs and we win the game.
...and now I'm here
Wow Josh Wilson got an AB
Guess Wak is throwing in the towel too
Seriously though
He gave Josh Wilson an AB and then took him out anyway?
Honestly though
Vargas, Corcoran and Tits? Shouldn’t these count as AAA home runs or something?
If we could sent robots back in time and to kill Andre Ethier's mother before she gave birth to Andre Ethier, this would be a tie game.
I don't know how to stop.
So, anyone care to wager how long it takes for the first call to either postgame show, blaming this all on Joh?
That's surprising.
the first call is someone who is outraged that Cedeno is playing shortstop, when Mike Morse (who has done everything asked of him) is sitting in Tacoma, hitting everything he sees.
Well, I'll be there the next two days
So if we had to lose one, especially like this, I’m glad it was tonight.
This road trip is off to a great start.

An opening game on a road trip of this magnitude
and only 342 comments in the game thread? Am I missing something? Did 75% of this game thread get moderated or something? I guess it was a Friday night, and I was getting drunk. Hopefully everyone who wasn’t in the game thread was as well.
Hopefully everyone in the game thread was equally so.
...and now I'm here
Everyone's been saying "expect 4 of 5 on the road" - well, this is one of the 5.
If Felix can hold them down for 7 innings… and Corcoran doesn’t even get to hold a polaroid photo of a baseball, let alone the real thing… Ms could be fine today.
No game recap for today?
the content on this site really sucks
