6/25: Open Game Thread, Part 2
With Wade LeBlanc lasting all of 1.1 innings today, I can officially no longer deliver snide remarks about how even I could shut out this offense.

.334 with walking their dogs every night?
.334 with picking up after themselves in the locker room?

He'd do better in the Japanese leagues.
They play with smaller balls over there.

They're going to get Strassburg.
He said he won’t sign with the Mariners or Nationals. Only the Padres. Bud Black and All that.

Someone help!
I work 1/2 a mile from Safeco Field, trying to gauge attendance for my coworkers but don’t have MLB TV or a TV at the office… Someone with eyes on the game, any idea what the crowd’s like?

Oh what the fuck I knew this would happen as soon as I tuned into the game.
Is that the light at the end of the tunnel, or the headlights of an oncoming train?
The Hell? Part 2?!
Don’t you guys have jobs? haha!
I got the first part of this on the radio, thankfully, though wish I could have been home for the booting out in the first inning.

How can you mistrust someone ballplayers leave their kid with?
That being said, I still have faith that he’s not very good.

~I "write" about the Mariners. section331.com~
Yeah, but someone has to pitch the garbage innings.
I’m fine with it being Beluga Tits.

I really should stop being such a dick about it
He hasn’t been bad this year, for the most part; but the bias is still there…
~I "write" about the Mariners. section331.com~
He was standing around the bullpen yesterday looking kind of lost. It was a real melancholy moment.
For about 30 seconds, then I realized there wasn’t a line at the bullpen bar and my heart exploded with joy
He actually almost always looks pretty sad to me...
It’s one of the main reasons I feel guilty for being an ass…
~I "write" about the Mariners. section331.com~
Oh, I cringe seeing him in close games, too.
Thing is, even if you’re a 6.00 true talent FIP pitcher, that still means you’ll pitch a scoreless inning fairly frequently, and most of the time, when you pitch an inning, you only give up one run (aside from any defense your team can help you with).
Honestly? I’d be thrilled if managers were more willing to pitch their stoppers in tied games and their garbage pitchers during 3 run leads in the 9th… but the (SV) statistic is too shiny and valuable for reliever salaries…
by eponymous_coward on Jun 25, 2009 4:43 PM PDT up reply actions
I don’t mind him when he can pitch with a 6 run lead.

So we're 2 games over .500, having carved through some weak teams like butter, going into the toughest stretch of schedule over the year.
Well, we might as well find out now if this is a mirage or not.
by eponymous_coward on Jun 25, 2009 4:45 PM PDT reply actions
This is as far above .500 as we've been in franchise history.
