Whatever happened to bullpen carts anyway?
I totally forgot this awesomeness. You can’t expect a relief pitcher to travel as far as 400’ under his own power.
"I do not buy numbers defensively. At all," Amaro said. "I look at fielding percentage. But that other business? I don’t buy it a lick."

I am so happy someone found a shot of that thing.
if I remember correctly, the pitchers refused to ride in it.

They won't ride in the glorious USS Mariner, but they don't mind riding in this?

Where’s the sense in that?

That bullpen tugboat was ridiculous and pathetic
much like the M’s circa ‘77-’92. I think you’re right, after awhile the pitchers refused to ride it from the bullpen and the team had to retire it for that use. I do remember an opening day when players sat on the “bow” and greeted fans while it circled the outside perimeter of the Kingdome. But I don’t think of this dumb little boat as the USS Mariner; instead the majestic vessel that rose from center for a cannon blast after an M’s home run.
Ah, the Dome. You sucked and I loved you.

That center field boat was indeed the USS Mariner
This was just a tugboat.
Nice Guys Finish Third - My semantics are a waste of time.
