Bedard sure picked a nice time to have his shoulder vaginitis act up.
Peavy has a torn Posterior Tibialis Tendon in his right ankle, which will require at least 4 weeks in a boot, and the Padres trainers fear he will realistically miss more like 8-12 weeks. Which might put his return past the trade deadline, and dollars to donuts he won't be healthy enough for any competing team to roll the dice on him.
That's potentially big news for us if Bedard isn't seriously hurt himself, because it will make him the most valuable pitcher on the trading block and inflate any potential return we can get for him.
Please get healthy, Erik. And then sign with us again next season after we trade you, pretty please.
