Corcoran off DL, Johnson to the BL.
Larry Stone, bring in da news!
The Mariners have activated relief pitcher Roy Corcoran, who has been on the disabled list since April 30 with a strained neck. Corcoran, for now, will take the roster spot of catcher Rob Johnson, who was placed on the bereavement list. No details yet available, except that it's a family emergency.
Righteous.
I hope whatever the emergency is, it resolves itself well. I may vehemently dislike Rob Johnson's current skill level and the praise for his defense, but I do not wish harm upon random other people just because they know Rob Johnson. I bet he's a very nice fellow in fact.

I'm basing this mainly off of interviews I've seen
Also, there’s just no way someone with that smile could not be friendly

Except for the whole "I'm gonna kill you, bitch!" attitude.
Awaiting the day I catch a Russell Branyan foul ball. I will make love to it.

Rob just looks like the kind of guy that's always first to offer you a hug when you're sad

Being a ballplayer would be hard when it comes to things like this.
His wife and their infant were in Seattle and now she and the baby are flying to Texas alone where Rob will meet them.
I also have a job that keeps me from my family for weeks at a time and this is always my fear. That something terrible will happen while I am not there to help. I hope he spends as much time with his wife as she needs.

How do you know he isn't?
This baseball thing is probably a cover.

So Josh Willingham's brother also died in a car crash last night and he is on the BL.
How crazy would it be if both incidents were actually the same? Sad day for both families.

I have met Robby several times...
He’s a friggin’ great human being. It’s hard hard hard for me to root against him on the field, it really is. As was mentioned earlier in the thread – he lost his mother-in-law in a car accident. This is crushing news for everyone. Every time I hear of a traffic fatality it hits me extra hard (since my wife’s a nationally-recognized expert in traffic safety), but to bridge into baseball yet again — ugh.
Take your time, Robby. Be there for everyone. Live is waaay more important than baseball.
