In The Eye Of The Beholder
No matter who you talk to, their evaluation of the Mariners' season so far will be something along the lines of one of the following:
(A) The six-game winning streak gave them the leeway to go on a six-game losing streak and still be in a pretty good place; this team is on the right path
(B) Any six-game losing streak means that you have to play that much better in the other 156 games to have a chance; this team is in trouble
(C) The six-game winning streak and the six-game losing streak balance out; this team is average, and therefore right where we expected them to be
What a weird season. Be more normal.

I would say C best describes the M's
but I can understand the frustration with the fact that the team can be better with slight improvements, and it feels like the management overlooks the possibility for improvement (starting Yuni and not calling up Clement, for instance).
Despite losing six games, I am not giving up on the Mariners just yet. I figured that they had a ton of losing coming for them after watching last Sunday’s game. But that doesn’t excuse their poor play. GMZ has impressed us in the past, I am pretty sure that if anything, he will impress us once again, and won’t let the Mariners fall into 2008 territory.
Don't know what +1 means, but I'll take another sip just to feel numb to it.

I posted a post game fanpost because I didn't think we'd get a moderator's post, sorry.
I wanted to give people the opportunity to vent. I’ve never done this before, but I had a glass (bottle) of wine and I personally felt like venting and I hoped others would as well, Apparently I should have waited for J/M/G to post something to get post game comments. Sorry.

Matthew, Jeff, and Graham are pretty good at allowing the readership to voice opinions, vent, etc.
You just have to be patient.

Honestly, less of a dick joke and more of a spaghetti joke.
Sorry if it was misleading.

Next time you should give him +3.14 so he can enjoy a tasty dessert.

I'm in the (C) boat.
The winning was nice, but this team is average at best. Playoffs would be great, as I don’t see this front office screwing up a lucky season the way Bavasi and Co. did, but .500 is pretty realistic for this roster.

C is the reasonable thing to think
But the hot start led to some perhaps unwarranted confidence, so I’m now more in the B area.
Obviously Felix is going to lose some games.
But it stings that much more when I put my trust in him and it just wasn’t meant to be. But honestly, besides the obvious errors, and that last HR, it was a close game and we stayed in it. At least there was that to look forward to.
And beltre showed signs of life.
BELTRE HIT A HOME RUN! BELTRE HIT A HOME RUN!
At least something good happened in this game.
You can't hide from the omnipresent eye.
The error, I guess?
But I saw the replay of that and he nearly pulled off the most audacious double play ever. Shame it didn’t work.

This has been one hell of a week to be too busy to catch the games
I promise I’ll try to see as many as is physically possible the rest of the way
Well, Frank from Suprise Arizona has it all figured out. Thank goodness he wrote the Times this week.
“Once again, the Mariners made a mistake in letting a good player get away. Willie Bloomquist is a guy who can play every position except pitcher and catcher. This time last year he was hitting about .180 because he was only being used once in awhile. Now that he is with Kansas City and being used more often, he’s hitting around .380. Until you do something with Chuck Armstrong and his motley crew, I hope you enjoy watching underachievers like Lazy Lopez.”
WIllie's average is certainly helped by a .408 BABIP, something completely unsustainable.
Also, there’s no way he keeps up a +.900 OPS. KC will soon realize what it means to have WFB in the lineup on a regular basis.

M's need to get their act together
by the time the Caps get eliminated and my attention turns fully to baseball. From the looks of things they have until tomorrow night to straighten up. God I hate Pittsburgh.
