LL Tennis Event - June 6
Since there seemed to be enough interest to at least get a couple games going on neighboring courts, or a rousing set of mixed doubles, I'm proposing a LL Tennis Event.
Location is the Madrona Playground off of Spring and 34th.

UPDATE: Polling has indicated that Saturday, June 6th at 2pm is the most popular option, so that will be the time.
I'm hoping to hear from the folks that expressed interest previously (Lanterman, ACblue, RC, Jaejo, Serotonein) as well as anyone else who might be lured out.)

No, Maybe, No
Weekday evenings are usually okay, but the proposed dates are tough since I’m seeing bands both nights. The 6th is perfect if we can push it back an hour or two. I don’t relish being at The Croc until closing and then trying to get to Madrona from Wallingford by noon.
Back from Sasquatch late last night & looking forward to exercising out some of this beer and fried food.
It's tough for me to cross the lake that quickly.
Thursday or Friday would work if it were at 6:30, though

Live in Utah.
Makes it difficult. I may be moving back up to Seattle in 3-6 weeks, though. There will be other opportunities if I do.
All three days work for me.
Though I prefer Saturday, Friday, and Thursday in that order.
I actually have 4 rackets, not 2, but 2 of them aren’t that awesome.
Looking forward to playing doubles with you guys.
Just a warning though, my fast serve sucks, and I can’t put a lot of spin on the ball, but I can run around forever.

I'm most likely available on Saturday, but that's going to be a tough weekend.
I’ve got my first two baseball games on Friday and Sunday.

Did anyone else watch Serena come back last night
Holy crap I love watching her play. She’s the most exciting blend of power and emotion of any athlete in the world right now. I don’t think there’s anyone I would be happier to pay full price to go see play. (Lebron would be in the running if the NBA wasn’t corrupt as hell and every other highlight wasn’t him travelling as he takes 3 steps through the lane.)
I watched her live yesterday morning.
I don’t know if “comeback” is the right description. She played terribly and was just good enough to survive, but never really had to come from behind (she gave away the second set). If Serena was 100% healthy and on her game, that other girl wouldn’t have scored more than two games in the match.
She is definitely up on there on the list of players I would pay to see, though.
I guess the "comeback" was more of a watching her overcome her frustration and unforced errors
Also: I’m excited about watching this guy:

This is an amazing condensation of his win vs. Nadal. Hit the HQ button on Youtube for a nice bump in resolution.
I can play tennis this weekend if anyone wants to as well.
In case anyone has the tennis itch real bad.

No problem.
Speaking of drop shots, mine is like Wakefield’s knuckleball. Sometimes it goes into the net, sometimes way out of bounds, and sometimes just over the net and then dies, so I may try a couple of those just for fun.
So it’s me, JohnBai, Jaejo, Serotonein, and Royal Curve? Doubles with 1 rotating out then?

Anyone interested in getting a game of tennis in this evening after work?
I could be at a Seattle court by 5:30 or 6pm. I need to find more people to play with!
Next time, eh?
Speaking of which… hope to see you tomorrow at the Madrona courts!
I’ll try to show up a bit early and stake out the courts… or get in line if someone is already there playing.
See you there tomorrow.
I’ll try and be there early as well, though I get lost easily, so we’ll see how that goes.

As of 10am today... it's looking mighty gray outside
kind of cold and windy too.
We might have to reschedule this thing.
as of 11:30, weather report says there's light rain
but I’m not seeing any in my neighborhood. it’s supposed to be sunny this afternoon.
Yeah, and weather.com says it will be partly cloudy partly sunny
from 3-6 pm. 65-69 degrees.

Lets go ahead and see if we can do it at 2pm
It’s supposed to get sunnier… so we’ll probably be safe.
I’m not going to go down earlier though… no sense in going down while it’s still cold outside.
Unless it’s starts raining or something… I’ll see you guys in a couple hours.
Hey thanks everyone
Awesome rotating doubles match! This was exactly what I was craving.
It was great to see Jaejo, Serotonein and PlaySportsinSeattle all out at the court. Sorry I had to leave a little earlier than I was hoping.
But Jimmimoose and I had to go see a double feature of Up and The Hangover… which is an experience I highly recommend.
Next time I’ll bring a camera so we can post a couple of pictures.
Sounds good.
I’ve heard good things about Up.
Next time we should schedule football at a better time. Baker pulled my shorts down trying to tackle me.
I’m gone the next two weekends for an east coast baseball trip with some college buddies but my weekends are usually free for sports.

It was a great time
Nice to match up a few faces with screen names.
I hadn’t played doubles since high school, so it was fun to get used to that style again.
