Carlos Silva
In other news, an MRI done on Carlos Silva yesterday revealed an impingement in his right shoulder. It also showed fraying of both the labrum and rotator cuff (uh-oh!). The results were reviewed by team medical director Dr. Edward Khalfayan and have been forwarded to Dr. David Altcheck for a second opinion. No matter what you may think of Silva, he’s under contract for two years after this one. So, no, this is not good news.
That said, it’s not necessarily season-over time either. Such fraying can be normal in a pitcher’s arm and a guy can work through it without surgery, That’s what second opinions are for.
