I created mine yesterday but didn't tell Brett.
I suggested that we start another LL BMO League and apparently he decided to create his own.

What's the name/password of Brett's?

Do a league search for 'Lookout Landing'
And you’ll see both leagues. Brett’s doesn’t need a password.

Hey Coach nothing against you and I really thank you for bringing the new BMO to my attention
But I think it would be more fun if we consolidated the leagues so we can have more owners and Brett already has experience being a league commissioner.
by Robert on May 17, 2009 8:35 AM PDT reply actions 0 recs
I'm just wary of needing such a high minimum of owners to start the league.
1. Because I’m not sure how many people actually play the new BMO and 2. I don’t know how long it’ll be free.

Do you actually need Baseball Mogul (the non-online version) to play?
by rlintott on May 17, 2009 11:29 AM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Nope. You wouldn't need to anyways.
BMO is no longer owned by Sports Mogul (which is why the name is now “Baseball Manager Online”)
by Coach Owens on May 17, 2009 11:34 AM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Even with the paid version it was only $5.
Plus, the more active owners, the better the league will be.

I want to know how they rate the players.
Aramis Ramirez, Cody Ross, and Tim Raines jr (!!!!!) are the only players with a top rank of 100.
Also the bio for Franciso Rodriguez says “Rodriguez worked in relief in 2008, making 76 appearances on the mound. He collected 2 wins while posting a 2.24 ERA. Rodriguez is among the league’s best pitchers. Rodriguez is unhappy as the setup man for the Mets. He thinks he could be the closer with the Mariners.”

Question: should I balance cash to make it "fair", or should I force people who inherit dumb teams to deal with having little/no money in the bank from the previous regime?
I wouldn’t change contract values or anything, it would just give everyone the same amount of money at the start. I’m leaning towards no, but I’ll do it if a 3/4 majority wants to.

Hey Coach
Can you split up a couple of the forums?
I’d like there to be Free agent signings, Trade announcements, and Trade Discussion, if you could. Keeps everything a bit more tidy.
Also, I’d like to announce a rule, which I will put in the forum later: maximum expenses are $20 million a piece. If we keep getting higher, then people will go bankrupt and fuck up their franchises beyond belief. It’s not fun if people are constantly in debt, so I don’t want to watch that happen.
For those who were in the old LL league, perhaps you can give some insights to your experiences RE: trades with computer teams. The old rule was that if a 2/3 majority (or so, I think) approved a proposal a user made to a computer team, I would use my commissioner powers to make that swap for them. Is that good, or should we just go without CPU trading?
Also, I’d like to do a 2-4 day period after we have enough teams where I pause the league and we can have our “offseason”, basically making pre-season signings and trades. Sound fair?

Also, concerning pre-season FAs:
We will likely have threads in the message boards bidding for said players that will close whenever we decide to be done with the “offseason”

One more thing:
Should we be able to trade draft picks? I liked it last time, but there should be a limit, like you can’t trade your 1st and 2nd round picks two years in a row or something. As far as trading picks, it works by agreeing to a deal for a pick mid-season, and then the team giving away the pick trading the player the CPU gives them in the draft from that round to the other player. Sound good?

Someone take Florida!
They have a solid roster. Standouts (with overall ratings in parenthesis) include:
SS Hanley Ramirez (92+)
OF Cody Ross (99) [seriously! might be a glitch, but worth taking advantage of)
2B Dan Uggla (93)
3B/1B Jorge Cantu (80)
RF Jeremy Hermida (86)
SP Ricky Nolasco (80)
SP Josh Johnson (80)
SP Andrew Miller (80)
CP Matt Lindstrom (80)
Payroll: $53 million
Budget: $38 million
Budget limit: $40 million
Cash in bank: $4.5
Someone take the reigns of Florida!

Our first sim is in 17 minutes apparently. We're starting with 30 games a day, correct?

That's what I heard
The trade I swung last night with Garces hasn’t been completed yet, so I can’t set my lineup. Is it going to be handled soon?

The league is paused.
That clock is for the entire BMO universe

So I've come to find out.
This is good, because I was getting concerned. I’m just along for the ride in all of this

Yeah but he's the Tigers
They suck, so he’ll be of no concern to us

Thanks for the bulletin board material
this is getting posted on every Tigers-affiliate locker room before every game for extra motivation to beat down the Twins

Your players can read?
Color me surprised.

But aren't bulletin boards the same thing as the plywood put up over their doors and windows after they are foreclosed?
They do have bulletins posted on them to prevent trespassing. That’s the same, right?

Thankfully BMO is recession-proof
unfortunately, people in Detroit never had any money to begin with

As usual, Minnesota and Cleveland will finish 1-2 in the division with 2nd place fighting for the Wild Card

So every one of my relievers are but my closer are unhappy.
They all say they think they could be closing for the Mariners.

Aardsma sucks in this game. I'd rather have only a semi-good reliever at closer and put my best guys in the middle innings due to common closer usage.
I would be well served to get a real closer, though.
