If I didn't know any better

I’d swear Johnson was a vampire moving in for the kill. Does artificial light count as daylight? Because that would rule out vampirism.

Remember when Blade fought Decon Frost in the temple?

That was lit by artificial light. As I understand it, it’s not the entire spectrum of light, but ultra-violet light that harms vampires.

30 Days of Night confirms this.

The chick vampire got burned by the UV grow lamps.

I will smash your face into a jelly.

Speaking of UV...

That’s the spectrum the Predator used to find and kill Gary Busey. It’s all connected.

by Frosty Raptor on Apr 9, 2009 3:20 PM PDT up reply actions

That's going to fucking haunt me for days.

Crap, it is!

I thought it was just some random (real) image of Busey clapping, not something that wa shopped.

Busey's son

is pretty much next door neighbors to my parents in Lake Havasu, and I got to meet him a couple years ago. Talk about a nut job.

I am no longer an advocate of elaborate techniques of security analysis in order to find superior value opportunities.

I was stunned when I happened upon it somewhere else,

given that the applauding man gif shows up here occasionally. That someone Buseyfied it is amazing.

The film was the best thing ever

seriously. I watched it by myself. I did not stop laughing for four hours.

by seattlebruin on Apr 9, 2009 3:25 PM PDT up reply actions

Yes yes yessssss

though at that point I had already been laughing at Kristen Stewart’s “acting” for the whole movie and Rob Pattinson’s fake accent, so I was already in hysterics

by seattlebruin on Apr 9, 2009 3:33 PM PDT up reply actions

The best thing about that whole movie

is that you can go through and explain line by line why it sucked (I’ve been to Port Angeles, it’s sunny! - So they glitter in the sunlight, so fucking what? - So she’s 17 and he’s 100? — He’s too good for the girls? that’s why he doesn’t date? suuuuuure — He’s not hot: he’s wearing lipstick and how long do you think it takes to do his hair?: he’s a gay. — If the vampires have super speed and can run faster than cars, why do they chase each other in cars? — Why are these two people in love? they have no common interests, they don’t make each other laugh, and they sure as hell don’t fuck — Stay with your boyfriend even though he breaks into your room to watch you sleep, and threatens to kill you, yeah that’s a good message to send. — Exactly why does she need to hurt her father again? — Oh they end up at prom? BARF — Why exactly do they need to attend high school? etc) to people who liked the movie and they will refuse to acknowledge they they liked it solely because “OMG they’re so hawt”

I haven't seen any of the movies, but now I have to.

I hated almost every character in those books but couldn’t stop reading. Incredible. Next time I have a long plane ride I’m sure I’ll read at least one of them again.

I’ll give Seth.

But hearing Renemee or whatever it was spoken over and over in the 4th movie is going to be hysterical.

LIke I posted on your FB wall

the movies fill me with an excitement like no other because if the first one was that unintentionally hilarious, I cannot imagine what will happen in 2 and 3, and especially Breaking Dawn.

At least 50% of the scenes are not PG-13 at all, and yet they’re critical to the storyline. That is going to be one fucking amazing movie. I hope Kristen Stewart doesn’t learn to act between now and then though…

I don't know how I got past them describing Edward's skin for 300 pages per book.

I GET IT IT’S FUCKING COLD AND HARD AND SPARKLES IN THE LIGHT FUCK!

So I always wondered in Twilight if Vampire’s blood was like venom I tough all their bodily fluids would be as well if you catch my drift…

I read an article on slate about Twilight

that explained that the chick in the books is so boring and mundane because it makes it easier for female readers to replace her character with themselves.

M's logo

The compass is colored in silver (representing technology) and forest green (representing the North West’s environment). Technically the A’s already employ forest green though, hence BRG.

I'm guessing you'd be a fan of neon green jerseys for the Seahawks as well then?

Never

The Seahawks will now be able to permanently blind their opponents. “Not such hot shit now are you Big Ben? What’s that? Can’t see your receiver? WELL TOO FUCKING BAD!”

All that from a retina-searing uniform. You’re welcome

by Robert Lintott on Apr 9, 2009 10:09 PM PDT up reply actions

It's used more than the green is on the M's.

If you’re talking about making trim colors into alternate jerseys, that would be a logical progression (although I agree it would be hideous).

One of the best catches I've ever seen.

I’ve seen OFers dive and catch before, but this takes the cake because he had to run quite a ways to get to it.

Am I the only one cringing at the direction his glove goes after the catch?

The only reason Gutierrez escaped a devastating snapping of the wrist is because his skeletal system is made of adamantium.

by Frosty Raptor on Apr 9, 2009 4:34 PM PDT up reply actions

That was a little scary, but not as bad as it looks.

I’ve done this quite often playing in the outfield, and it’s more the glove bending than his hand.

From the Yahoo! postgame write-up, the inevitable happened:
Sprinkling a brand new sinker in with his usual assortment of offspeed pitches, Washburn kept a Twins team that had six extra-base hits on Wednesday night completely off balance. Morneau nearly swung out of his shoes while ripping at a 65-mph slow slider for strike three to lead off the second inning.

The Original "Death to Flying Things": Bob Ferguson

Interesting: Bob Ferguson, who played for the New York Mutuals, the Brooklyn Atlantics, the Hartford Dark Blues, and the Troy Trojans, among others, during his 1871-1884 career, is the original bearer of the name “Death to Flying Things.” I think it’s kind of cool they came up with this nickname almost thirty years before airplanes began flying. Wasn’t Dave Neihaus the first guy to call Gutierrez by that nickname? If so, insert old age joke here. But I think Gutierrez will do Bob Ferguson proud.

And if the name “Bob Ferguson” sounds familiar, that’s because one Bob Ferguson is a King County councilman today.

by Decatur on Apr 9, 2009 4:43 PM PDT reply actions

It just struck me,

the other great thing about this catch is he had the guts to run that far and dive for it, knowing that Endy was heading his way full speed.
