Actually

The only thing the Glen Perkins picture seems to be saying is “huh?”

I'd rather know a little about a lot than a lot about a little

My 1st game thread of the season...

…though my enthusiasm is somewhat dimmed by the news out of SoCal this morning, I will soldier on doggedly.

Go M’s! Let’s get the split.

We've played too well to come out of this series anything but 2-2.

GO M’s.

[you owe me you fuckers].

I was at Shea for the Felix-Slam!
Personal M's record: 5-4.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it

but the new mlb player is a steaming turd that need to be boiled in fire

by JI on Apr 9, 2009 9:41 AM PDT reply actions

Since it has defaulted to not doing HD, I've had no problems with it either

My only problem was with it going back in time a second or two and repeating certain things, which was annoying, but on SD it’s been smooth as butta.

Drayer on the change-ups last night...

apparently, Joh called them & Silva agreed with the call … that the change-up was what he would have called in the situation.

Wak disagrees with both of them, and talked to them about it….

by msb on Apr 9, 2009 9:41 AM PDT reply actions

More from Wak (via LaRue)
"It’s not about blame, it’s about accountability," Wakamatsu said. "We’re trying to move this team forward. Kenji called it. Carlos could have shaken him off. And I could have called the pitch from the bench.

"The key is to get us all on the same page. Carlos is a sinker-slider guy who occasionally throws a changeup. I’d much rather throw my best pitch where I want it – even if the hitter is sitting on it – than my third best pitch, which I may not have great control of."

"The bottom line: that wasn’t acceptable. We’ve got to get better, and that’s a process. I include myself in that."

I like Wak.

What was the point

Of bringing Tui up as a reward if your not gonna play him? A game where they give Beltre the day off at third and he still can’t get off the bench? We may as well have brought a 13th pitcher for the pen.

Too close for missles, switching to guns.

by Paseman on Apr 9, 2009 10:08 AM PDT reply actions

I understand the rationale

But wouldn’t this be a perfect game to let him play befroe they ship him back to Tacoma?

Too close for missles, switching to guns.

by Paseman on Apr 9, 2009 10:10 AM PDT up reply actions

The reward was monetary.

Tui doesn’t actually deserve to play over Cedeno.

by Matthew on Apr 9, 2009 10:09 AM PDT up reply actions

I don't know

I guess I’m a bit higher on Tui then the rest of you, although living in Texas now I don’t get to watch Mariners games so I haven’t really seen him play, I just get box scores.

He was shifted towards right

the ball was hit to left center. He covered an impossible amount of ground to get there, laid out, and caught it inches above the ground

by Zack on Apr 9, 2009 10:27 AM PDT up reply actions

The ball looked like it was for sure going into the gap for extra bases.

Guti went back covered an amazingly large amount of ground and laid out to catch the ball like half an inch above the ground. Really impressive.

With this defense

and the fact that any contending team likely already has a good third baseman, I’m betting that Washburn returns more in trade this year than Beltre does.
