Aumont to relief permenantly?
http://blog.seattletimes.nwsource.com/mariners/2009/04/05/aumont_to_bullpen_role.html
I feel like this has to be some kind of joke. Late April Fools joke? If not, I see very little reason for optimism for this team for the next few years. Do you think this is purely a GMZ decision or more an inevitability caused by the pick of Aumont? We now have three potential power relief aces from the last 3 drafts.

I don't understand this at all
The whole offseason it seemed like Zdurenciek understood that a bullpen could be put together of low cost/high reward types with live arms. He seemed to get that spending a lot of money and/or draft picks on the bullpen was not a smart move. If this turns out to be true we will have 3 first round draft picks used exclusively for relief purposes in Morrow, Fields and now Aumont.
I hope something change with this otherwise I am going to be really upset. Our rotation is Olsen twin thin and it’d be nice to have an electric arm like Aumont’s waiting to join Felix in a few years. I know that Aumont becoming the SP we all hope he will become isn’t a sure thing but it doesn’t seem worth shirking that risk by lowering his potential value in making him a reliever.

My best guess is that Z plans on making Morrow a closer so that he can trade him for
a collection of prospects. And that he’ll then repeat this with both Fields and Aumont.
Would have been better off trading him during the winter or early spring.. Kid could have brought back a ton
when he was still a 25 yr old starter with excellent stuff
Really doesn't make any sense at all
Really not happy with this.
Really angry about this.
Really livid about this.
It makes no sense to put anyone in the bullpen. Morrow is there – we’ve already succeeded in not drafting Lincecum and fucking his mind up to the point where he thinks it’s cool to close. The problem is YOU DON’T NEED THREE CLOSER PROSPECTS FOR ONE BASEBALL TEAM AS THERE IS ONLY ONE NINTH INNING PER GAME FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
JAC said this was just to build up fucking arm strength and to control innings!
You got slurved bitch.
mariners could have been dynasty
mlb draft
clement….zimmerman/braun/tulo etc
morrow…linceum
aumont…heyward
thank you for that insightful analysis, we never would have thought of that ourselves

Maybe he was going to have them form a KISS tribute band called Dynasty
with Clement as Peter Criss, Morrow and Paul Stanley and Aumont as Ace Frehley. Still uncast is the Gene Simmons role.
