The pitch type numbers on FanGraphs
Are not Pitch F/x. That’s data from BIS.

So I think BIS needs fixing in Chicago

Perhaps CHicago is the thing that needs fixing.

I've heard Comiskey is a terrible place to see a game.

Doubly so since it's been torn down

It actually is still standing given that we played a three game series there fairly recently.

Or maybe no one wants to call it by that name because the constant renaming of stadiums to appease cooperate interests is lame and it's clear I am referring to the park formerly known as New Comesky
by JI on May 1, 2009 12:50 PM PDT up reply actions
I don't think anyone calls it New Comesky

So you never call it Safeco Field, then?
Just Mariners Stadium?

Safeco was never called anything else. US Cell was.
I think you are being unfair in your example here.
It's still a valid question
I was asking because if he doesn’t like corporate re-naming, I made the somewhat logical assumption that he doesn’t like corporate names in general.

I don't mind corporate naming.
I don’t love it, but it’s not a huge deal to me. I absolutely hate re-naming. Drives me bonkers.

I used to hate it until it became inevitable
and now I can’t be arsed to care. Money infects everything.

I find that a bit strawman-y for my tastes.
I think that’s a big leap of an assumption.

Which is why I posed it as a question originally
it’s an assumption that I was attempting to clarify.

Don't be silly
1) It never held that name
2) it’s Mariner Stadium

I know you're lying.
You have a M’s reliever throwing something but fastballs? Preposterous.

That's some serious overall heat as well.
I was at Shea for the Felix-Slam!
Personal M's record: 5-4.
I'm sure this will be fixed
Looking at the database, it just looks like whoever scored that game put KN in there instead of XX (which is the unknown pitch type). I’m sure this will get fixed in the next day or two. Usually it takes 1-2 days after for the pitch data to be properly recorded anyway.
