I stopped reading right about here:
No one disputes Ichiro’s skills. He is a superb outfielder with excellent speed, although he lacks the daring of the elite basestealers.

but...
he doesn’t… Jeff proved it! Why would this guy lie like this?

Know the face of the enemy.

I hate the idea that Ichiro could hit 40HR “if he could be bothered”. I don’t buy it. Ichiro is the best player that he can be. He is not a power hitter. He hits singles. End of discussion. He gets on base and sometimes, he will steal a bag if he deems it worthwhile. He is extremely good at this. And one day he will be in the HoF, regardless of him not being as ‘daring’ as ‘elite’ baserunners [seriously, this guy needs to review FG baserunning stats for last year…].
I was at Shea for the Felix-Slam!
Personal M's record: 5-4.

I love this line of thinking
Barry Bonds would have been a better player if he would just have hit more singles instead of always swinging for the fences.
Ted Williams would have been a better player if he dove for more balls.

That is a trainwreck of an article.
I hope no money changed hands for this excrement.

Checking Griffey and Sweeney as on-field drivers for the Mariners' early success?
I can’t decide if this is lazy journalism or shoddy journalism. Shazy? Loddy? Seriously, this stuff is not hard to research, even if you don’t follow the team.

Guys...
I told you not to look… don’t blame me because your dog hates you now and the U, I, O, P and { keys are not longer attached to your keyboard.
P.S… i can say that last part, because I’ve done it a couple times.

So, that's why they lost.
Last season’s last-place club, which lost 101 games, collapsed under the weight of back-biting and jealousy.
Huh, and all this time I thought it was because the players were lousy.
Wow. The Sporting News used to be a decent magazine. I guess it’s clear now why Yahoo! saw the need to work with SBNation. One good thing about the demise of newspapers is that the good reporters will probably be hired by the Yahoo!’s of the world and guys like Fraley will be out of jobs.
