We need to get the FB! FB! FB! FB! pitch selection into him.
He threw almost nothing but CU the entire game.
You got slurved bitch.
The best part is Nick Swisher was already one of my five favorite people in baseball.
And then this. It’s just magnificent.
Also,
He hit a homer earlier in the game, then came up to the plate again and drove a pitch right to the wall. Crawford jumped up and grabbed it, making a hell of a catch. (I don’t think the ball would have gone over the fence, but it was right there.) Even when trailing a division rival — and trying like hell to convince people who should know better that he deserves a starting job — he took off his helmet and tipped it toward Crawford.

Some good advance scouting was the key factor.

DAMNT MOTHERFUCKING MLB NAZIS

I love it, he's having such a good time. Plus he keeps the Kapler strike out ball.
Can’t believe the announcers thought that was disrespectful! How often does a position guy get an opportunity to pitch, let alone get a called strike three.
It was a swinging strike! Even more awesome!
Yeah, the YES Network guys were taking it all way too seriously. It’s a blowout in the second week of the season, the bullpen is thin, and Swisher’s just having some fun. If it were the winning team throwing a position player out there to pitch because they were up by so much and just wanted to dick around, I could see that being disrespectful. But they were losing, had no chance to win and just wanted to end the game. And it gave the fans a reason to stick around. I thought it was wonderful.
As for keeping the ball, yeah, it’s a little sad to see Kapler sulk off, but it’s not like Swisher did a cartwheel on the mound. Let him keep the ball. He succeeded in a situation he’ll probably never see again, and he wanted a memento.
I like how there's no radar gun on him
Nice Guys Finish Third - Hopelessly lost, but makin' good time.
"Screw it, let's just watch."
I also really liked GameDay’s trend analysis: “Steady velocity on Changeup.”
