In a somewhat unrelated note, I noticed that HoRam's SBN picture still has him in a Mariners uniform.

The announcers were giving him shit for this too
they said he should have just played it on a hop to keep the runner to a single, instead of the triple that ensued.

Wow, that's pretty amazing
He was nowhere near that ball and yet he decided it would be best to dive after it. But hey, he got his uniform dirty and that shows he cares. Not like selfish Ichiro who dare not get dirt on his jersey because it would sully his image.

I like how "Kansas City, MO" just CRAWLS by while he's still sliding
It sends the message “this, Kansas City, is how slowly time will pass as you suffer the agonies of two years of Willie Ballgame!”

Wasn't he suppose to be a second baseman there?
So you could say he was playing “out of position”, I guess.

I saw that live yersterday, the announcers where not very pleased and blamed it on him being an utility man
and not very experienced with the outfield

Willie is yours
And we’re thrilled that you have him.

It would be better if you could pause it right as the ball is hitting the ground and quantify the distance between his glove and the ball

I'd like to see the ball Swisher dropped that day, and the one that went through his wickets the next.
MLB streaming archives sounds like a nice feature, if there weren’t so many complaints about the service or the blackouts I’d think about it.
The blackout rules don’t apply to same day game replay do they? Maybe a silly question, but then it’s MLB.

Typically games that are blacked out are available on mlb.tv an hour or so after they complete
at least that’s the way it worked last year.

To be fair
it was raining badly that game, and the field condition was awful, everyone was looking bad that game. including the ball going under both Swisher and Cano (Swisher fell after that), Jacob sliding into position and missing a hard bounce. and Jeter falling 1 step to his right and letting the ball through (yes i realize the pasta diving Jeter jokes, but it’s not like he ever dives and miss the ball by 6 feet) late in the game Brett Gardner made a sliding stop on a Bryan Pena double and it looked like a freaking water slide out there.
And Willie did dive and get one ball that game.
