Wow

I’m so damn sorry.

My best game plan is to sit on the bench and call out specific instructions like 'C'mon Boog,' 'Get ahold of one, Frank,' or 'Let's go, Brooks.' -Earl Weaver

We must of done something to piss God off in the last decade.

Either that or the Mariners lost their virginity to a succubus. Absolutely ridiculous.

At least I still got Ramirez and De Jesus to follow all year.

Well more like this.

Ok, this is how it will actually go.

1 Silva
2 Batista
3 Lowe
4 Cordero
5 Jaubaskas
6 Fields
7 Aumont
8 Morrow
9 Strasburg

Just like the All-Star game, a new pitcher every inning!

We could even do that every game, since no one would be tired.

Is it closer to the knee or by his ankle?

If it’s by the knee, he’s screwed. if it’s closer to the ankle, he’ll be out for around three months. But wow…

by fresnofan on Apr 10, 2009 10:14 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

He's young, he'll be fine

It’s his development that will suffer the most

by Ezzra on Apr 10, 2009 10:18 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Even though this is shitty news

I’m glad to hear it’s by ankle and not the knee.

by fresnofan on Apr 10, 2009 10:18 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

That's a huge relief

If he can come back for some of the season this isn’t nearly as devastating. Although it’s still immensely shitty.

by Graham on Apr 10, 2009 10:19 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

yeah

but not as bad as people are making it sound if it’s closer to the ankle.

by fresnofan on Apr 10, 2009 10:16 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Damn.

I think it depends on his recovery time.

If he can be sent down to the Winter Leagues, then I think he can makeup some time he will lose over the next 6 months.

It's a question about the impact of Triunfel's injury on his development

Actually, I don’t think it’s really that clear cut. It’s a pain in the ass in terms of baseball development, but since the major thing Triunfel was lacking is power, it might not really be a full lost year of development time so long as he rehabs properly.

by Graham on Apr 10, 2009 10:39 PM PDT up reply actions   1 recs

Can he still work out his upper body fully?

Once he’s and crutches and everything’s stabilized (in, say, a couple weeks, I mean)?

by Decatur on Apr 10, 2009 11:01 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yea........

……….

We need to really stack up our farm system.

Triunfel out? Ugh.

by ThundaPC on Apr 10, 2009 10:27 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

'Minimum of 8 weeks'

Better than ‘minimum of 8 months, I suppose’

by Graham on Apr 10, 2009 10:32 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

By that timeframe, it's 90-100% confirmed

It’s still a really shitty injury, but it gives a glimmer of hope he returns in late June and seamlessly rediscovers his path to awesome.

Not to be an additional Debbie Downer, but let's keep this in perspective.

Nick Adenhart was killed yesterday. So, think about what Anaheim is going through. Good luck to us and to Carlos’ recovery, but this, too, will pass.

by lemonverbena on Apr 10, 2009 11:02 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Eh.

I’m not a big fan of this line of thinking. Deaths cause a ripple affect. Adenhart’s death affected Angel fans and those close by far more than it affects me.

I really feel for Angels fans but I’m sorry, I’m already over it.

Triunfel’s injury sucks, especially in light of what we’ve been going through in the farm system.

I was penciling Truinfel in at 3rd if Beltre was traded for a load of talent. Guess there's Cedeno.

Hope Yuni bucks up, I hate having to rely on him for anything. Maybe Z goes with optimal plan A and resigns Beltre, but that could potentially block Trui. Glad I’m not a GM and just a fan.

I don't know

This implies that the M’s are going to have a losing season, and I don’t think they are going to have a losing season.

Are you fucking serious?

You can't hide from the omnipresent eye.

Eh, that's okay

They were moving him to the bullpen anyways.
