It's going to suck after we win the WS this that other teams will catch onto how awesome defense is and our advantage we be negated

I never knew you left.
But if you were not around this offseason, how do you recognize Kermit? He’s not new, but it is a new alias.
Surprised me too, I was a late addition to the GT last season
Plus I read stats all retarded which I find endlessly amusing : (
There's not a link in the first thread that I see.
This makes me laugh.

Nice to meet you!
Read this real quick if you can, it’s not too big of a post yet. Might save you some trouble.
Fuck You Corcoran must be the new Fuck You Penguin.
Favor the Bold
He only had like a 1:1 K/BB ratio last year.
You’re surprised?

With Corcoran, no.
I’m just annoyed that this is the 7th walk issued by the staff today.
2 walks for us.
All by Griffey.

Let’s stave it off a little longer, Roy.

I love Lagunitas but they need to stop trying to do Belgian styles.

You could say the same thing about pretty much every other American craft brewer

Oakland, I’m not impressed.
It surprised me how few of the crowd was wearing Oakland colors

Not that we have an easy color to wear, but I’d love it if we were somehow like the fans at Busch.

I'm sure that damn thing is up and down all over the place
What with the 13 (13!) left on base by the A’s.
This should be interesting
Far more interesting than I want in a 5-4 ballgame with the Oakland A’s, I’m thinking
Can Morrow go today?
He’s either warmed up a shitload or pitched like 4 days in a row now…

Because the runner isn't trying to steal, he's waiting until it's safe, then running.
by Smegmalicious on Apr 10, 2009 9:29 PM PDT up reply actions
You'd think you'd have a better shot hoping he's going on first movement
by seattlebruin on Apr 10, 2009 9:30 PM PDT up reply actions
That's my point. They're not going on first movement.
They don’t need to get a jump like they’re trying to steal. They just need to be running once the pitcher is committed.
by Smegmalicious on Apr 10, 2009 9:31 PM PDT up reply actions
What I'm saying is that you'll get jumpy runners
you won’t get it every time, or even very often, but it seems like the most logical time to try it. Especially if a guy has a really deceptive pickoff move
by seattlebruin on Apr 10, 2009 9:32 PM PDT up reply actions
Sounds good to me, lot of walking leads in that count depending on the speed of the guy at first
Ought to be able to catch one off balance now and then
No, not really
Arguably you could be breaking the pitcher’s focus just at the time he needs to focus the most, but sure, why not.
by Smegmalicious on Apr 10, 2009 9:36 PM PDT up reply actions
Exactly
you won’t get ‘em often, but you’ll get one every once in a while, and that’s a pretty decent sized WE boost, plus momentum never hurts, if anything

I agree.
Some people cut themselves. I root for the Mariners.
Does bunting there increase your chances of getting one run?
While decreasing your chances of getting more than one run? I know Tango and co. said that it makes the most sense to bunt in high leverage, late inning situations.

Triunfel report
West Tenn shortstop Carlos Triunfel, who left Riverwalk Stadium in an ambulance
Friday, was in “good condition” just after 10 p.m. at Baptist Medical Center South, Baptist marketing coordinator Melody Ragland said.
Triunfel suffered an apparent left ankle injury while sliding into second on a double play that ended the top of the fourth inning Friday.
Triunfel is the No. 4 prospect in the Seattle organization, according to Baseball America. The 19-year-old is in his third professional season and first at Double-A.
Well since they're going to cut him open they can just count the rings.

Everything possible to scare the shit out of every Mariners fan with a pulse
Other than that, you didn’t miss much.
I think the first GT made this game feel like it went twice as long as it actually did
I didn’t realize how much pleasure LL gives me during the games. It’s one of those things you take for granted, but significantly affects your fandom.
Kind of got tense in GT #1 didn't it? Never been here this early in the season so I don't know how it goes
Plus a team that inspires hope instead of apathy and despair.
It's just newcomers do their basic online-speak thing, and when mods aren't there to browse through and correct, it kind of snowballs
And then people get more testy than they should, and before you know it, it’s all spiraled out of control.
Didn’t help this game was ridiculously tense every inning.
You might want to get a better one soon.
This was minor.

I'm not sure how many of you are watching CSN, but Shooty is funny.
I am no longer in Spokane, but I think I'll keep the name anyway.
But you are right.
Isn’t this how Sabr stats should work? I figured that eventually the M’s would win a game that they shouldn’t have to balance it out, but I didn’t expect it to be in the same week.
Agreed, but I like it.
On the other hand, Endy Chavez probably won’t get a single hit in all of July, as his regression makes up for the awesome week he’s been having.
Be nice to have a line up that can handle one or two guys going through a slump, instead of four at a time
I don’t know if this is it, but maybe a better bench and a manager who’s willing to sit down a player helps.
It is great.
The M’s having a winning record without Ichiro playing! Once he comes back the M’s will be solid, much better than people expect.
Shit
Is Felix’s game really not on TV tomorrow? Fuck. That was going to be my best chance to see a game for quite some time. Gah.
That's fucked up.
Probably because it is a day game, and FSN has more important things to show, like Women’s college softball.
Fox has exclusive Saturday daytime rights.
by Aaron Campeau on Apr 10, 2009 10:33 PM PDT up reply actions
That makes sense.
But that still isn’t right. So basically we are stuck watching two of the most loathed teams here because Fox won’t show the Mariners game.
It's five games.
Also, please capitalize your comments.
What does 'WTF' mean?
Does it stand for ‘I want to tear my eyes out of their sockets and beat the person who uses chat-speak with them’?
That’s my interpretation.
Sorry!!!
I don’t flip through a dictionary to find sophisticated words to use.
Since when is this thread an English class???
Get over it. Damn.
And the expectations of Lookout Landing are well established and communicated.
If you do not wish to abide by them, there are many other places to comment.
