Buy Ichiro's Old House
Open House on Sunday, April 5, from 1-5 p.m.!
No, I'm not tied to the real estate agency, I just found the link in the P-I (and heard it on the radio recently), that Ichiro's old Issaquah house is up for sale!
With 20% down (a meager $350K), the monthly payment on your new $1.75 million mortgage is a mere $8282 at the 5.875% rate their calculator spits out.
The taxes are $13,340, though, so you better be saving your pennies there.
Huh. I wonder if he'd autograph something there if I bought it...

Maybe Ichiro wouldn't use him as his real estate agent unless he was photographed with a rubber duck.
I desperately want this to be the case.

I had to do a little research and
after a quick glance at his homepage, I’ve determined he has a rubber duck fetish or took a pun a little too far.
You can clearly tell he is a genius
Using baseball references throughout his ad without saying who used to own it.
This made me said because I'd like to think ChiChi has better taste than that.

I wonder if it's all been staged, though
if he doesn’t live there any more he’s probably paid someone to stage it for sales purposes, which means that most of what’s in there is probably not his…
Nice Guys Finish Third - Hopelessly lost, but makin' good time.
Sure, but the house itself is hideous and I really don't like the permanent fixtures.

(I got that nickname from Quitty.)
And yeah, it’s pretty bad. Although I can see the desire to live in a huge house in the suburbs after spending your entire life in Japan I suppose.

It's too extravagant looking for me
I don’t think I could ever live in a place that was covered in marble and fancy walls/flooring and the like.

from Finny, in 2000.
Yumiko will do the house hunting.
“I rely on her for all that,” said Ichiro, apparently a wise husband in any language.
Jeez, no kidding!
That’s a fantastic house.

It's a great design, but I hate the setback and prominence of the garage.

I agree, but the other side of the house is what I love.
Eastern facing views from Alki to the U-District.
I tend to prefer old houses as RC says above, but I love most Pb Elemental designs.
This one in particular.

Also
this image is a textbook illustration of how to incorporate a modern home into a traditional neighborhood.

I like the style within the city or developed neighborhood, but out in the woods it doesn't fit.
Like this one in North Bend.
Cool site, though.
This reminds me of the house in Little Buddha.

You need to buy his old condo in Bellevue.
Its also the exact same one Felix lived in last year… I can tell you from personal experience its quite nice.
Wait, are you the guy that chilled with Felix in his apartment?
Why would I watch Transformers when I can play with them at my house?

For those of you who can't afford a $1.75m house, may I interest you in Steven Gerrard's Range Rover?
It’s for sale on autotrader, and it’s downright affordable in comparison. Under $100,000!
I read that thread
and cried. To think I missed that. I honestly would have flown or driven up from SF and brought my rookie jersey with me. Only 25 showed up… I mean seriously, that’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. Damn, now I’m crying again… (not really, but on the inside)
I was happy to be unemployed that day
