MLB, NHL partner for streaming video package
I just saw this on MLB.com, and while I'm not a hockey fan, I know a lot of people around here are. I figured I should share it so people could be informed before they start purchasing their MLB.tv for the year.
Now [MLB and NHL] have come together in a new way, as Major League Baseball Advanced Media and the National Hockey League on Monday announced a partnership that will make available each league's live online streaming product. MLB.TV Premium and NHL GameCenter LIVE will be available to U.S. residents through a bundled subscription for a one-time fee of $139.95 beginning Feb. 16 at MLB.com and NHL.com.
Earlier this month, MLB.TV Premium went on sale with its full-season package (March-October 2009) for $109.95, a $10 discount off the 2008 yearly pricing. The NHL will launch its own standalone Race for the Cup streaming product on Feb. 16 for $79.95.

So, upon further reading, there's a lingering question.
How does this deal with the 2009-10 NHL season? The above package only includes the remainder of the 2008-9 season, but the MLB season and the NHL season overlap a bit in September/October. I want to know if this is a rolling deal before signing up.

Since they probably wouldn't broadcast any more Kings games
than I already get, this doesn’t do much for me.
You know what? Fuck you Sports Gods, fuck you.

US only?
Oh, right. Hockey’s already on like half of my channels all of the time.
And then there’s curling (the second most popular televised sport in Canada).
I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.

I don't like Hockey because I struggle to follow that small puck thingy.
But for the sake of £20 I might as well get the full package and try and get into it. What is the best team in Hockey because I refuse to get suckered into following yet an other team that sucks.

Or Montreal.
Or Toronto. Or the Rangers or Stars.

I believe that you are late on this matter.
But I shall have to consult outside sources for verification.

Why is a team called New York bottom of the league?
Surely such a standing such be reserved for teams like Columbus and Carolina?

Carolina has more Stanley Cups than all the Canadian teams combined over the last 20 years.

They are the Jets and Mets of the NHL
Meaning they are the lesser NHL team. Unless you mean the Rangers. Then they’re the Knicks.

Dion Phaneuf is fun to say.

An old roommate of mine is a Sharks fan.
I still have a soft spot for them.

Closest American team to Seattle.
Duh. Plus the Sharks are awesome. (Not that I’ve followed hockey at all this year, though they are awesome.)

I wish I could still root for the Nordiques because their name was awesome.
