On Ian Snell
A nice piece on Ian Snell and some things we should be looking for during Spring Training. This is the first I have read about positioning on the mound costing velocity, and I found it fascinating.

That’s an excellent article on Snell. I’m not sure I buy everything about the seemingly lesser velocity based on what he proposes, but the information about pitch location and type is prety cool. I’m not sure exactly what that means for Snell, though, unless it’s to pitch more inside. Without good control, though, it might be disastrous for him to try to go inside much.

I wish there was an easy way to access perceived velocity data for other pitchers.
