NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
Like the Rich Harden deal, this needs to be followed by us trading for a hitter that s much better than Nick Johnson, and is paid as much or less than him, at an excellent price.
Also: 1 year 5.5 million!??
Seriously, the Mariners couldnt beat that??
Johnson may want to play in New York because that is the organization he came up with.
We would likely have to beat the offer significantly for him to sign here. Looks like he is comfortable being the full-time DH to avoid injuries while building up his value.
It sucks, but Branyan is still available.
Yeah this is extremely disappointing...
If the Mariners can’t beat this, they’re either trading for Prince Fielder or planning on signing Matt Holliday.
This must be the case.
Note: anyone that we have heard a lot about, has NOT come to Seattle.
Chone Figgins and Cliff Lee – we heard nothing about getting these players until right before the deal was done.
Clearly the names that are floating out there are just a smokescreen, Jack Z actually has plans to get even better players than those named.
Yeah, it makes me kind of hopeful, now, that Seattle hasn't even been mentioned as a possible destination for Holliday.
Which is excellent
Unless he wants to DH for the M’s on the cheap.
Yes. And since 'on the cheap' means WAY less than he was offered already
He is not coming.
Hmm, clearly we should now expect a Puholz trade to break on monday,
And then be finalized wednesday even though someone failed a physical.
At least 3 teams will be involved, with us destroying the others.
How can you not know how to properly spell the greatest contemporary player in baseball?

Yeah I completely failed on Pujols there.
I really dont know what I was thinking.
I've managed to spell Felix as 'Fexlis' before.
Not sure which is worse.
