Ian Snell Is Really Different
On the one hand, at least he's changing things up, I guess. A true one-two punch refers to blows delivered in rapid succession. Oftentimes an entire day will pass between baseball games, and sometimes the delay will be even longer. Unless we're talking about geological phenomena or biological evolution, 24 hours generally doesn't qualify as 'rapid'.
On the other hand,
"This is about as good as a right left punch can get. It gives me a boost of energy knowing that this is what the team is doing and that expectations are we will go further."

I heard a snippet of an Ian Snell interview on the radio recently.
He was discussing Wakamatsu, their first interactions and how things have been for him since. I’d really like to hear the entire thing, he sounded pretty happy.

Nah, he's bound to post some unfunny articles soon.
That’s why they call it average, you know.

Ian Snell might be my favorite mariner.
He would’ve stabbed Cupcakes after the Ichiro incident.

Hwy, Randy Johnson is still a free agent, right?
Can we sign him and have a right-left-left-right-left punch?

According to Kurkjian, Wainwright and Carpenter are still the best 1-2 punch in baseball due to their season's last year.
Wainwright/Carpenter 2009 WAR: 11.3
Felix/Lee 2009 WAR: 13.7

Kurkjian also said...
If you take postseason Cliff Lee and Felix then we have best right/left combo. So that discredits him for not recognizing sample sizes.

And he also said that Jason Bay would be the "perfect fit" to be our starting left fielder next season.
So yeah, he’s no Bill James.

If Felix and Lee can have as good a 2010 as the St Louis pitchers had in 2009, I would be delighted.

If Felix/CLIFFLEE can repeat last year's numbers.
It will be even better.
