Royals ink free agent Kendall
How discouraging for Royals fan. Even as just a stop-gap this is a bad idea.

2 Years Guarenteed
to a player that projects around replacement Level. I’d be shocked if it wasn’t Ye Moron Toad’s handy work. Shades of Bloomquist.
Which is the real Problem
When they hired him to be GM he thought it meant Goofy Moron.
Well, they extended him 5 years recently, so he’s probably as good as gone next year anyway.

In fairness, they had Miguel Olivo last year
and there weren’t any horrible former Mariners left to catch. Yorvit Torrealba isn’t bad enough, Kenji Johjima went back to Japan, Jeff Clement is Pittsburgh’s property, I think Ryan Christensen is out of baseball… really, when you think about it, Kendall’s Oakland A’s career makes him the closest to a crappy former Mariner by geography the Royals could have picked.
Great job, Dayton Moore!
From the #jasonkendallfacts Twitter feed
The OED added "giving Jason Kendall $6MM for 2 years" as an alternate definition of "royal flush"
"Jason Kendall is The Process."
Is that the light at the end of the tunnel, or the headlights of an oncoming train?
