Hanukah FootbaLL - Final Edit

Lookout Landing "footbaLL" has traditionally been a fun, welcoming, low-impact way to enjoy the sport. Women and children have been welcome at previous games. We either play two-hand touch or with flags... but absolutely no tackle. Injuries are usually limited to being sore in strange places the next day.

Please consider joining a footbaLL event on Saturday, December 19th. If you'd like to participate please leave your RSVP in the comment section. We're looking for 6-10 participants... which allows teams to be small enough that everyone (except the quarterback) can be a receiver and routes can be strategically designed. We'll also plan to have a game on December 26th for those of you who would like to play but cannot make it to this one.

Game Time: December 19th, 12 noon - 3pm (followed by a trip to the Elysian for hot food and cold beer. The restaurant is welcoming to minors. Non players who want to meet up with pLLayers can just come to the pub.)

Game Location: Garfield High School... field turf football field on the east side of the school. Near 25th and Alder in the Central District.

I'm looking out the window and noticing that at 2:15, the day is almost over

How would people feel about moving game time up to 12:00 noon? And moving beer/food time up to 3pm? It’s weird to say, but a 1pm start time might be too late to take advantage of the sunlight.

I may play mostly QB today....

I got a new tattoo on my right forearm, and I didn’t really think as I was getting about playing Football today. It’s only on it’s 3rd day now, so I don’t really want to risk it getting messed with. I’ll see how much I’m willing to risk it once I’m out on the field.

Maybe the best LL football game ever. Hat tip to you yellow team motherfuckers who came back from two touchdowns and beat us.
And it sounds like we have a solid turnout predicted for 12/26. Hopefully Daniel or JMJ will post a new diary shortly.

I also like breaking off the FB draw for 80 yards (not “80 yards,” people, seriously eighty yards) and forcing us to change the rules of the game.

But aside from all that, I’m feeling just a little bit overrated right now. I think I might just be a better player in warm weather. I feel like I make more flag tackles and more catches when it’s sunny and dry.
